Hi everyone,

I have a 160GB iPod Classic.

I need a car charger/FM transmitter.

Any advice/recommendations?

You might want to consider an inverter - it plugs in to the 12v socket and converts the car's DC power to AC that your computer and other devices can use. Then you don't need an adapter that will only work for your iPod. ThinkGeek sells one that looks like a coffee mug and so fits very nicely in a cup holder. I've had it for a couple of years, and it works well for Apple and other laptops, as well as other electronic products, AND it has a USB plug, so you can charge your Ipod that way as well. Find it here. They're having a sale right now, so you can get it for about $25 delivered in the US. And no, I'm not affiliated in any way.

Will I then still need something to transmit a signal over my FM radio?

Ah, yes - missed that part . . . :rolleyes1

My son has a Belkin that he likes a lot - says it works much better than whatever he had last. It plugs in to the power socket and has a USB outlet so you can charge, and also transmits to an unused FM frequency. I believe it's the CarAudio Connect AUX (says that's compatible with both iPhones and iPods, among others). Note that it also can be used with iPhones, so it comes with a plug for the microphone.

For chargers I highly recommend Amazon. You should be able to get one for $2 or $3 with free shipping. Definitely don't buy one in a store. Can't help with an FM transmitter. I use a cassette adapter. But I'd buy the transmitter on Amazon too.
