Am planning a 2 week solo trip to Walt Disney World. Am hoping to get the free dining again, but am waiting to hear about that.

Can't decide if I want to stay at the same resort for the entire time or split it between 2 resorts. I definitely want to stay at the French Quarter, as it is my FAVORITE moderate resort, but can't decide if I want to stay there the entire time or do a week at the All Star Sports, then a week at the French Quarter. I thought about AoA, but I do not need a suite, especially not for double the cost of the All Starts. Another option is a week at Coronado Springs & a week at the French Quarter. My only concern with CSR is that I have never stayed there before, but it looks really spread out. CBR & POR are not options, as I have stayed at both before and they are way too spread out for my taste. The final option is just doing the entire stay in a River View room at the French Quarter.

Which would you choose?

I voted for 2 weeks POFQ - definitely not a fan of split stays. Good luck with your decision.

I love split stays--it makes it seem like another vacation. However, if you are planning to use a free meal plan, your second reservation would be as a separate trip and you would have to buy another park ticket. You could use it on another trip, however.

Even though we don't mind doing split stays, in fact Disney makes it very painless to do so, I voted for you to stay at POFQ for the entire 2 weeks. We too LOVE POFQ and to get a river view for that long would be awesome :goodvibes. Good luck deciding.

If your staying for 2 weeks are you considering buying an annual pass? Depending on your situation you may be able to save money. According to your signature area, it appears you make annual trips to Disney. A premium annual pass is around $692 versus a 10 day (maximum days you can check online) with all options of 626. Curious what would be the most advantageous. Never stayed that long.

Between the choices listed above, I would go POFQ all the way. It is my 2nd favorite mod and that's the way I would go. Enjoy!

If you did not like CBR or POR because of size, you won't like the size of CSR. Although a little smaller than CBR and a little bigger than POR, it is still big (and why we like it). You could pay for a preferred room, but that puts u farther from pool. Have you considered renting points at a DVC resort?

Can you get park passes & the meal plan with DVC?

Yes to both. If you rent points, the DVC owner you rent from has to arrange through member services for the DDP which you pay before you arrive. It used to be you paid it when you checked in. Tickets can be had through Disney (especially if you are going to go with an AP) or through a ticket broker. We rent points - this will be our 2nd time - we love it!

I vote two weeks at the POFQ, but I would live there if I could.

That being said, at my next stay T-DAY 2012, we are doing a split between the BCV and AKV renting DVC points.

What is your motive for considering a split stay?

I just thought it would be a nice change splitting it between 2 resorts, but am now wondering if it is worth the hassle.

I can see it as a hassle if dining packages and tickets are involved. If it's just changing resorts (i.e. room-only) it is not that much of a hassle; just takes a little extra planning on one day out of a 2-week visit. I'd probably want a change in resorts for this long of a visit and would consider a resort I have not stayed at before.

We have called the front desk and for permission for a "late check-out" which I think was going from the normal of 11am to a 1pm with no charge. If you can do this, you will have a little more wiggle room with your schedule on the day you change resorts. There is enough time to go to a park early and still get back and go through the change.

I am one of three (as of now) voting the third choice.

If I had two weeks in WDW I would absolutely do a split stay. And because we make the resort part of our stay, not just a place to sleep. We always upgrade to something other than a standard view.

I voted split and love the idea of CS I have stayed there and felt it was more of an adult atmosphere, great food and drink to be had!

Just voted for the split stay. I voted for CS/FQ, but any split would be good, especially for your specific trip. For a solo trip at such a small resort(FQ), I think one week is plenty to soak up the atmosphere there. Although I would suggest you do FQ for the second part since you KNOW you love it there. Don't forget, you may be able to change resorts while there if you really disliked the second resort choice. We stay almost EVERYWHERE on property and after 5 nights or so are ready for a different atmosphere.
