Looking for advice from the wonderful people on these boards. Our family is planning a trip in March 2012 and have quotes on a number of properties.

I am torn between a villa with pool and hot tub at Windsor Palms and a three bedroom condo at Windsor Hills - the price difference is about $130.00. Are there enough in terms of activities at both places for teenagers, and which would you choose....I know that Windsor Hills is newer but I`m not sure that would compensate for the lack of our own pool if we choose a condo. Just want to try to keep everyone happy!

Thanks a million,
MouseGirl

I've only stayed at Windsor Hills but the main pool area is pretty awesome. And there is a hot tub by the main pool, along with a small arcade and the movie room (they will play whatever you want on the big screen). Plus for teenagers it might be nice to walk on their own to the pool to hang out. Oh but I saw you are going in March-not sure if the main pool is heated. That would make a big difference.

We stayed in a 4BR Windsor Palms pool home 2 years ago and just loved the privacy and our own pool. I would by far pick that over the condo.

We never actually used any community amenities at WP - my kids were so thrilled with the pool in the yard - so I don't know how great they are. Looked like people were having fun there when we drove past!

But for nearly no price difference, I would take my privacy with the option for community things over a condo. But I don't have teens, so I don't know how important privacy is to them - they may want something different than what my preschooler and school agers want.

We liked having a pool right out side the door that we could use any time of day and night.

We would come in late from the parks and unwind in the pool and spa. The
pools close at certain times.

Also I did not worry about having strqngers around when they were younger. I had 3 and trying to keep my eyes on them all the time got crazy.
I would go on holiday before my DH so had the 3 by myself for a few days before and after he left.

We stayed in a 6 bedroom pool home at Windsor Palms in 2009. We had 15 people so we needed the space as well as the privacy. We absolutely loved having the pool in the backyard! The game room in the garage of the home we stayed in was really nice also. We enough space that we didn't get on each other's nerves (too badly). We would stay here again, especially if we had a big group!

We've done both the pool home and a 3 bedroom at WH. hmmmm...the pool home was beautiful but my kids got a little bored. My kids ages at that time were 16, 13 and 9. When we stayed at WH condo earlier that same year, my two youngest really enjoyed the slide and going all around the pool...it's pretty big. We didn't use the arcade or anything else, oh, we did use the hot tub.

I can see why people love the pool home too but we prefer a condo with some amenities. :)

My girls are 16, 14 & 8. Next month will be the 3rd time we've stayed in a pool home. When I even mention staying on resort or a condo they all say "no way!" They love having their own space, their own TV's and a pool all to ourselves. They say they get enough "crowd/stranger time" when we're at the parks...it's nice coming "home" to just our family. I personally like I don't have worry so much about them in a private home. I find it gives DH and I more flexibility too.

But again different strokes for different folks ;)

We stayed at Windsor Palms back in 2006, and have booked to go again this Sept.:woohoo: We liked our villa so much we've actually booked the exact same one again!

We went in a group of 6, with late teens and early 20s. The lads in particular loved the tennis and basketball court, and also made good use of the gym. While us girls enjoyed the privacy of the private pool as the villa wasn't overlooked at all.

This time around we are going with family inc our DD2, but think we would always choose Windsor Palms over the newer Windsor Hills :)

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences and advice - I really appreciate it! I think we will likely end up going with the pool home at Windsor Palms. It still has lots of recreational amenities for our teens (basketball, volleyball, clubhouse and main pool area) but we would also have our own pool to enjoy anytime we want.

Thanks again,
MouseGirl

I don't think you will be sorry.

Have a lovely time!
