I swear this trip is going to kill me!!! We had our WDW trip all set, 7 nights at the Dolphin with waterview from 3/23 - 3/30 (going to watch stepdaughters cheer). Then find out they aren't going, so debate about cancelling trip/rescheduling. NOW find out the ARE going, but at the end of Feb (2/26 - 2/29). AAAHHH!!!

So I call Dolphin to see about availablity of rooms with AAA rate, THEY DON'T HAVE MY FIRST CHOICE OF DATES (2/24 - 3/2). The earlies they can get me in is 2/27. So, we'll stay at the Dolphin from 2/27 - 3/5, however we need a place to stay on 2/26.

We were thinking of one of the All-Star resorts for the one night, or stay off property and take a cab from the hotel to World of Sports and back. We will not be doing any parks on 2/26 just the cheer competition.

Any suggestions???

Also, does Dolphin have a waiting list that if a room opens up for 2/26 they can call me?

Thanks!

I enjoyed the summerfield suites off site...

I cetainly wouldn't give up on the Dolphin, just yet.
You have some time to play with this, as it sounds as if the Dolphin is booked for a convention on your date.
So, the way that works is this....
Based on info from the organization booking the convention(s), Dolphin blocks rooms to allow for bookings. Now, just because XYZ company has said they expect 999 rooms to be booked does not mean that 999 rooms will be booked. It does however, cause the Dolphin to block that number of rooms.
As it gets closer to that date, the Dolphin will begin releasing those unbooked rooms. They do this on Fridays.
So, in the meantime, get you a back up ressie and keep calling the Dolpin on Fridays as it gets closer to your date.
Good luck!

That's what I'm going to do. When I called Dolphin I was suprised that they didn't have any rooms available, especially when I called to check on POR (my backup resort) and I could have ANY date I wanted with AAA.

We really want to stay at the Doplhin, especially because of it's proximity to get to WOS. I'll probably book one night at one of the All-Star resorts, then pray the Dolphin can get us in on 2/26. If not, then we'll be there on 2/27.
