Hi,
I just booked a room for one night off Travelzoo for Atlantis, but could only book for 4 people on the internet. I called them to add the 3rd child and they said it would be $45.00 more. I said ok let me call you right back! I called back shortly after (2x) and spoke with 2 other people who told me I have to book 2 rooms. How can I get an extra wrist band for a 5th person. I don't mind paying a bit extra. What happens if I go there and try to resolve it at the desk? Any experience with this would be helpful.

We went in December and had 5 staying in one room. The 3rd child has to be under 5 years old. We told them our 5 year old was 4 and they let us book it. When it came time to get the wristbands we requested an extra one for DS (4) and they said he wouldn't need one if he is under 48in. We insisted-even though our room key only showed 4 on the reservation (we said he would feel really left out if the others had a wristband and he didn't) and they gave it to us. They are very strict about the wristbands and have your room linked to the computer system at the wristband booth-I have no clue how you would get around this otherwise. (maybe bribe the employee??? I personally wouldn't try it, but I think the employees would be accepting!!)

SILLYANDI THANKS FOR YOUR REPLY

THESE ARE POSTS I JUST FOUND WHICH SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF A 5TH PERSON ON AN ATLANTIS RESERVATION NEEDING A BRACELET

#1 Anyway -- at the locations where you buy tickets for tours AT Atlantis (outside the Dig was where I saw the signs) the sign now includes three options. One for just the Dig & grounds and is still $29, kids $21, one for the dig, grounds & beach for $52 adult or child, and one for full access to everything including the pools, lagoon, slides. That is $88 per person, adults & kids. If you are a party of only two, this will be cheaper than comfort suites and will save the time you would spend checking in to CS, etc.
There is also a great hospitality center in the cave near the Seagrape Restaurant where there are showers, lockers, towles, etc. I'm not sure if this option will be available year round or not since perhaps January is a bit slower, but clearly they had revised their admission signs since we were there a year ago to now include the full use option. I took a photo of the sign I was so surprised. I'll put a link up later when I'm more functional. I also saw lots of people who appeared to be "sneaking in" to a couple of the pools but couldn't get in to the slides or other areas. More on that later, too, I promise.
#2 Just a little FYI on that info...
I got so excited when you posted that, THANK YOU AGAIN BTW , that I called the Atlantis immediately to make sure that it would definately be available for my April cruise.
According to them, that is a tactic they use when bookings are low to fill up space. In other words she said, "We have a certain number of people of resort can hold, if we are reached to capacity, that will not be made available to the public."
Well, IMHO, then why would they allow several other hotels to access their grounds seasonally? She did not have an answer of course.
So I do not know if it was a hit or miss or what... I sent an e-mail out too to see what somone else says.
But thanks for the info regardles.... it gives me a different avenue to persue, given that the rates for April for the Comfort Suites are in the $260 range as of now!

THIS IS THE ANSWER FOR ME. I KNOW I READ SOMEWHERE THAT THEY SOLD DAY PASSES. HOPE THIS INFO IS USEFUL TO OTHER CRUISERS. THE LAST DAY TO BOOK THOSE ROOMS AT ATLANTIS IS 1/21/07.

I returned from my cruise last Thursday. I went to the Atlantis with my family
I didn't need to purchase an extra bracelet. I just went to the towel shack by myself and asked for another bracelet. She said there would be no charge for the 5th one! Probably cause I was already a paid guest at the hotel. That resort is fabulous and definitely worth visiting. I wouldn't recommend a Disney escorted adventure. We saw them there, and felt as though you could move through the resort and get a lot more done on your own. There is so much to see you actually need a full day and a half! There is a theatre, kids/teen club, 1st rate shops (bring a fat wallet) all kinds of water rentals, and excursions and a beautiful casino.Definitely try the slides, visit the pools and beach. The digs were interesting too. If you have already been to aquariums it is pretty much the same thing as other places. This would be a great place to fly to and have as your vacation destination. I wouldn't recommend leaving the resort for the downtown area. It looks pretty sketchy to me!
