Hey all,
My 3 kids started collecting/trading pins last trip. We're going again next year and they want to trade again. The problem is that they have a bunch of pins they want to save and not take with them. I saw soft cover pin collecting books at WDW (should've bought but didn't), I can't seem to find them available anywhere else. Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes, you can get the regular soft sided pin trading book but I don't like them as the pages are just like a felt material and not sturdy. I have purchased two different types of books.

I have a small, maybe 5 x 7 zippered binder - it was actually an organizer with a daytimer, address section etc,. For this book I purchased black foam pages in Michaels that I cut to size and put holes in for the binder. Depending on the size of the pins each pages holds about 12 pins. I think with pins on the pages, it can fit about 5 pages of pins. I like this because it zips closed and I will not lose any pins if the backs come off. I use this book as my trading book. It's small enough to fit in a backpack or small tote bag that I might take to the park.

For my keeper pins, I had purchased the Disney Pin Binder, not the soft sided book. I used this for a few years but I liked the zippered binder idea so much that I purchased a 5 inch zippered binder (like kids would use for school) at Staples. It holds reguar sized binder paper. I took the pages out of my Disney binder and put them in this binder. Disney also sells additional pages. I bought a package of these (5 pages to a pack) at the World of Disney store in NYC and added these pages to the large binder. I really love this book. It holds a ton of pins and on the inside left side of the binder is a file type thing. I have kept Disney event cards and that type of thing in it.

I also like the binder idea because I have also printed out (from Pinpics I think) listings and pictures of different pin series that I collect. I printed these off my computer to my home printer and then put them in sheet protectures so I can keep track of pin sets that I am collecting (I am trying to get some of the lanyard series).

I know it sounds a little complicated but I love collecting pins and I feel with both this binders I have a great place to keep them.

Happy pin trading.

Linda

They have a regular pin trading bag (similar to the one we bought in the parks) and a personalized Jack Skellington pin trading backpack (I got this for dh during the pin sale in December and it is great--and more convenient to carry around if they wanted that option!) on www.disneyshopping.com . They aren't on sale right now but if you buy them on a Monday there is free shipping on pins & pin accessories, so that would save you a few dollars.

Hope this helps!

I'm editing this to add that they also have a Stitch hip trader in case anyone is interested:)
