I would go plain and navy.
If it makes you feel any better I am plus size and was 8 months pregnant when my Mom got married. She wanted me to wear a navy dress.
Yeah try finding a navy plus size maternity gown in August.
I had the luxury of time though so I was able to order one to be made. Now I have a size 18 maternity navy gown. If you get pregnant I have you covered!

I think your FSIL should be taking a more active approach in this dress search. If she wants a specific color/style etc. she should help you find possibilities, and should have done so with plenty of time for special orders...

ETA: Have you checked out Dress Barn? I've almost always found something cute there for special occasions and they have plus sizes.

The Anne Klein navy from Macy's that Java found is nice & I think it's closest to the David's dress you liked. And it will work w/ the one she has chosen for the MOH.

I feel for you, she really stuck you w/ no time, a tough to match color AND that MOH dress is not the simplest of looks to coordinate with. Good luck!

i like that Davids one. I think you guys could have one made. I would start asking around for a seamtress. Some small bridal shop use different people on contracts or ask at your dryCleaners.

why not have one made? A lot of times you can get a dress made for what one would cost in a bridal store? I did this with my wedding for the flower girls I was able to get mini brides dresses made with some specific embellishments that mine had. When they do that it will fit you perfectly and that will help your confidence.

I think I might check resale stores for old dresses that could be altered. Navy WAS the color a few years ago. OR, you could each choose a navy dress that was different but appropriate. the other thing, of course, would be to have them made but you'd better hurry for that. Might be a trip to JoAnn is in order, eh?

Sorry I didnt get back soon, I had rehearsal! I havent looked at all the dresses posted yet but My sister called David Bridal early, we are going to try it on to see if it fits and then order online if she likes it...

unfortunately both her and sister's dresses have gold in it so the silver wouldnt go

I checked all my favorite plus size retailers; Ralph lauren, Coldwater Creek, Talbots and struck out except at J. Jill. They all have some really nice dresses and a few in Navy but none that are wedding appropriate and in navy/dark blue. J.Jill has three linen blend dresses in Deep Blue that come in a plus size. The color looks like navy. You could then trim the navy dress with some cream colored lace to match the MOH's dress. OTH Talbots had some really really elegant dress that came in a cream color that you could trim in Navy to coordinate with the MOH's dress.
