This is just kind of a "hi, i'm back" post. I've been inactive for a long, long time.

I booked a proffered site November 13-20, but now we're thinking we're going to fly, instead, and stay at All Star Sports.

We drove the RV down in 2010 and it was a great trip, but it was also a lot of time to take off of work and pull the kids out of school. It takes about three days to drive to Orlando. Something like 26 hours straight driving. We definitely stay somewhere to sleep at night.

We have stayed at All Star Sports twice before, and love that, as well.

Are ther any RV rental options in the Orlando area? Is it possible to fly down and rent an RV?

That's a long drive for a week stay. I would probably fly in and stay at All Stars if you can get a good rate and cheap airfare.

If you are interested in renting an RV, There is a poster tina who rents. Her website is www.campatthefort.com. She gets very positive reviews on this board. There something to say for staying at the Fort if you can swing it.

ETA - There is another company that advertizes in the ads on the headers called Moore Camper Rental. Here's the address. www.mcrfl.com. Don't know anything about them.

In my recent trip report see post #64. I showed pix of both Cruise America and Camping World RV rentals. They are both in the Kissimmee and Orlando area. (In fact I've been at the CW location in K on Hwy 192 to buy some equipment).

The one thing I know about CA (priced them on their website) is that they don't do pick-ups and drop-offs on Sunday. Using they folks may not be cheaper than a Value Resort in absolute dollars but if you want to stay at the Fort then bigblock's option or these are considerations.

Good luck to you. In any case I hope you end up at the Fort. :thumbsup2

Thanks, guys.

I am leaning towards flying and staying at All Star Sports - just seems like less hassle and less money.

I will miss The Fort, but you gotta do what you gotta do :)
