It is $400 cheaper for me to travel 45 minutes to pick up a rental car from manchester airport than to get one locally. The local ofice has 150miles per day to drive to florida...as the airport rental is unlimited. My big question is.... is it ok to rent from the airport even tho u arent using the airport? If u r just someone wanting a rental?
N how weird that the rate dropped $100 since last time i checkd. Do rental car places drop their prices every now and then?
Any help would be great. I m just a worry wart waiting for something to go wrong lol

Not so fast. Make a reservation and read it carefully. Occasionally an airport rental requires renters arrive on a flight. If not the reservation is cancelled or the terms change.

A local renter is a customer who cannot provide a return boarding pass. Local renters do not receive unlimited mileage and may be subject to other restrictions.

The reason. Unlimited mileage is intended for normal driving by customers who flew into the airport and are doing "normal" vacation or business driving. That's one reason why one way rentals generally cost more.

I called and they will rent to anyone. So relieved. Lower price and unlimited mileage. Cant beat it :)

I rented a car at Newark airport in NJ, to drive to Cedar Point in Ohio on vacation..... our cars at the time were not that reliable.

I also rented at Philadelphia airport, I needed a minivan for about a month when my daughter had double hip surgery. (we did not have a car that allowed us to get her in and out and carry a wheelchair).

Both times, the rates at the airports were the cheapest I could find.

YES.

If you can can cancel your reservation at any point (or up to a certain point), keep checking back to see if rates have gone down. If your cancellation period has a certain date where you can't, stop checking after that date. No need to torment yourself, LOL>

....

Okay, let me modify my statement. It will be fine to rent from the airport from a MAJOR car rental agency, perhaps not from some place few people have ever heard of. Plus I would say living a 45 minute drive away does not make you a local renter.

I truly cant beat the price. $152/week unlimited mileage. Beats the $269 smaller limited mileage car locally.
Thank u all for your help. So appreciative :)
Hope this helps soneone else out there save some $ checkin out airport rentals :)
