Need To Change From Standard Room To Preferred...

I just checked our ressies (staying @ASMu) and realize we have a standard room instead of a preferred. Both DH and I have recently been in a car accident and a preferred room is a MUST at this point. When I made our ressies I used a CODE. Should I try to change the ressie when we arrive in December or call now and make the change? I don't want to risk losing the discount code. We booked a pkg deal with dining/tix.

Definitely call asap and explain your situation - if the CM cannot help ask to speak with guest services.

I am sorry to hear that, I hope you both are on the road to recovery. There are a limited amount of preferred rooms at the value resorts (at least at Pop, and I am sure it is the same elsewhere). That is a very busy time of year. I would call now, that way if one was not available due to be booked, perhaps you would have a chance to switch to another value. Have a safe and enjoyable trip!

if worst comes to worst, there are some standard building that are really close. Not sure about Music but I stayed at ASMo and we had Mighty ducks rooms and they were next door to Music so the buses were closer to get to at Music.

I would not wait to request a change, the preferred buildings seem to fill up pretty fast.
Sometimes I have found that there are very few preferred rooms available when there is a discount code, so you may find you can not get a preferred room at the discount rate.
If you can not get a preferred room, then request the Jazz buildings, they are the next closest after the Calypso buildings.
