Need to be held accountable LOL

Think Elmer Fudd - can I do that on a DISboards? :confused3 :lmao:LOL you just did :) and no Disney cops came to get you I hope ;)

I've been a bad puddy tat. No, I haven't exercised unless you count :laundy: yep, laundry! I've been doing that all day it seems. Today was my only day off this week.I'll be nice and let Laundry count ;) lol :) better than not doing anything cant be to hard on ya I like your company on here.

But I have been sticking to my south beach diet really good, getting the house back to running in order & we started our Wed night class at church last night. That is great you have been sticking to the diet better than I have been :) LOL

I know, I'm making excuses aren't I

At least I'm good at it :cutie:I think we are both good at that

How's your week going? Your ankle doing okay after you started walking?
My week has been long it seems had extra kids in the day care which makes for long days, my ankle is doing well thank you for asking AND :D I lost the 5 lbs i gained :) so I am back to where I was before the surgery wooo hooo :banana::banana:

:rockband:party::dancer::woohoo:

GOOD JOB!!!!

I am convinced if you have a gain but get right back to getting it off, it does come off easier than if you let it set up camp a month or so, then it gets really hard to get rid of the uninvited guest.

Glad to hear your ankle is all healed, sounds like you are back in full walking ability force so keep at it so you'll be ready to walk WDW next month :yay:

DH & I took a 20 minute bike ride on Saturday AND I walked another 30 minutes. It was great getting out & having some fresh air :goodvibes I even walked by my uncle's house & some of his kids/grandkids were there at the time so double bonus, I got to see some of the cousins :cloud9:

Sunday I was a little sore in the calves but I plan to figure out a way to work more exercise into my week. It's hot here again & I'm afraid to wear shorts until all the bug bites totally heal.

ANyway, YEAH for us :dance3:

Got all your ADR's for your trip settled?

.

Hey there :goodvibes How's your walking regiment coming along? DH & I took a nice long 45 minute walk again last weekend on Sat which is good but it's not enough once a week (for me, DH does his treadmill 5 days/week). DH is frustrated though, he's gained 5 lbs but with football season in full swing those beers are hard to resist :lmao:

Doesn't tempt me but last time I weighed, I'm still about in the same place as the first of August before we went to WDW. So the good news is I'm still down all the weight I've lost so far which is good that I'm learning to maintain it. I just wish my body would allow some more of it to come off :cutie: I'm feeling tempted into going back to Phase 1 southbeach to jump start. DH thinks I'm having too many blue corn tortillas lately  Corn has a lot of natural sugar so we don't eat too much of it, but lately I've been having them with my beans/cheese nachos lunches or dinner. DH eats it without the chips :confused3

Oh, and also I've been having yogurt which DH won't eat. But I make sure I buy the lite less than 10grams of sugar kinds - there is a HUGE difference in the sugar content of yougurt. Well anyway what I'm trying to say is that I haven't been cheating with the sugars unless you count the blue chips, yogurt & um, well, I guess I've had maybe a few margaritas or wine at some of the tailgate parties. Dang it's hard to get this weight off!

Post & tell me you've been sucessful so I can feel encouraged! Oh, & tell me more about your trip coming up popcorn::

I have been great at getting up and walking no weight loss :( But Im still walking, only 28 more days !!! I need to be able to walk in the parks. Im so excited I have a card all ready for my daughter Abby it plays Bibbidi bobbidi boo and on the inside we wrote Happy Halloween we are going to Disney World!!! I have 4 purple Mickey head balloons im trying to think of a way to tie them into the surprise but not sure how to yet. We told her we were going to this hotel that has an indoor water park, it is 2 hours from here and on the way to the airport which is 3 hours from here. We have 2 scenarios planned if she is awake when we get to the hotel we fibbed to her about she will get the card there and surprise lol if she is sleeping we will keep driving to the airport and hope when she wakes up there she thinks its the hotel and we give her the card there and surprise we are already at the airport!!! We are hoping she falls asleep (it will be 3:30 am) but most likely she will be awake since one of her best friends will be with us. I hate waiting lol I want it to be here now!!!

Im also excited (bad me) since it will be the first time i get to go to the food and wine festival and on my actual Birthday!!! there are a few places i want to try. I still have not managed to get a reservation for le cellier but plan to try a walk up for lunch or dinner or both if needed lol. I want to eat there for my Birthday!!!

Off work today, so I took a 30 minute walk :goodvibes

I think you're going to do great walking the world :thumbsup2 You're back on your program, amp it up a little each week so you increase your stamina. You know you're going to be walking more than a mile a day at WDW but seems like there you don't really notice :cool1:

If you're faithfully doing your exercise that's going to have a good impact on your overall health. The weight loss will eventually follow if you're watching what you eat so hang in there

I got weighed today & I'm finally down about 2 pounds from the home scale. Going to the Dr. messed me up  I weighed more there but they showed a greater loss than home. Either way it's all good I guess.

Are you telling your DD & her GF that you're taking the 2 of them to a hotel with a water park but INSTEAD going to drive past it to go to the airport? Won't they be wondering why you're leaving at midnight?

Just an idea, you could get the Mickey balloons filled with helium while at home. Use them as a "treasure" hunt where each balloon they find gives them a clue about the surprise & where to find the next balloon. The final balloon holds "the card" with the special surprise (announcing the WDW trip).

So you may not want to since then you'd have the balloons filled with helium & they'd have to stay home, plus if you did that then they'd know before you leave that you're going to WDW & you're keeping it hush. Maybe you could call the hotel you're staying at to find out if they could arrange to have the balloons filled for you if you took them with you?

Or you could have one balloon a day prior to the day you leave with a Halloween message misleading her about going to the waterpark hotel. That way you're not enjoying them only 1 day.

One year we surprised my DS on his birthday with a WDW trip, we wrapped up a Mickey Mouse that had a poem ending with the "M-I-C, see you real soon, K-E-Y, why, because you're going to Disney World! M-O-U-S-E" He was jumping with joy & all cooperative about getting to bed early the night before. Since you have to get to the airport at 3:30am, you're going to want the girls to rest as much as possible before you leave & if they don't know why, they may not be willing :confused3

Well I've rambled on, you'll figure out something fun. Let us in on the surprise here & post. Oh, and about LeCellier, I've heard the rare story where a walk in occurs there but with food & wine you may not be so lucky. The night we went to San Angel Inn they were NOT taking walk ups because they were booked solid - and that was San Angel :confused3 Le Cellier is a tough one to get. We've never ate at Yachtmens but it's pretty close to Epcot so maybe you could get one there as a back up. Just keep checking on line daily, you never know when something will open up. We had a LeCellier lunch and about a week or so before we left a dinner time opened up. Good luck!

Been reading through this thread and would like to gatecrash if you don't mind, and share a little of my own story.

Just came back from WDW one week ago, but it was a long journey getting there!!!

In January this year, I just woke up one morning and though 'God I'm fat!' and decided I had to do something about it. DH and I had already booked to to the World in September for our 6th trip, but I was really not looking forward to the plane journey. Last time I could only just fasten the seatbelt, had nowhere to put my elbows (apart from digging them into DH and the stranger on my other side) and the most humiliating was that I couldn't gt the tray down to put my food on!

So, I've no idea what happened to make me choose that particular morning, but I decided enough was enough. I faced the reality that day that I really couldn't do this on my own, so looked up my local Slimming World Class (bit like WW for those of you who don't know, but more focussed on healthy long term plans) and went along that night.

I was shocked at the 225lbs that came up on the scales, but the poeple were so nice, I've stuck it out for 35 weeks, and have so far lost 57.5lbs. It made such a difference to my WDW experience!! I got the seat belt on no problem, managed to not only get the tray down, but also to pull it towards me about 3 inches. Rides were much more enjoyable oo.

Why am I rambling on about this????? Because if I can do it, you can too! I'm a completed couch potato..permanently attached to this laptop, with the TV on in the background. I have a very busy job, and Mon - to Fri, I get up, got to work, come home, sleep etc.

DH also needed to lose a little weight, so he has been with me every step of the way, eating exactly what I eat and discouraging me from reaching for the chocolate.

My outlook has changed completely. I still cannot stand exercise, the gym is the most boring thing on earth for me, but I now park in a remote car park at work and walk approx 1/2 mile there and 1/2 mile back each day. It's proved to be enough.

PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.......Not only will your Disney experience be so much better, but your life in general will change so much that you will not believe.

I'm still a couch potato, but I'm lighter, healthier, more alert, can stay awake much longer (go to bed later and get up earlier) and have become much more organised in my domestic habits (cooking, cleaning, shopping, washing) directly as a result of the weight loss. I've made a whole new bunch of friends at class that I now socialise with too (I'm currently making wedding invitations for one of them - she's finally agrred to get married after 6 years because of the weight loss she's achieved).

We all have our own reasons for wanting to lose weight, every one of them perfectly valid. Be proud of every single pound you shed, anyone who says it's easy has never been there! Good luck

Won't they be wondering why you're leaving at midnight? We are stopping at the hotel on the way to give her the card if she is awake. And, Well my DD is thinking thats normal time for driving that far currently lol and her GF already knows where we are going. She is really great at keeping secrets. DH also needed to lose a little weight, so he has been with me every step of the way, eating exactly what I eat and discouraging me from reaching for the chocolate. Thank you so much I hope to hear from you again.
I am in this for the long haul I planned a year out for this journey and so far off to a slow start. I have alot of trips planned which are keeping me motivated and my friends here are a great asset keeping me in check and on track. Just the encouragement and conversation is incentive enough to keep it up. I have a goal and so far I am still walking towards it. Ups and downs are a part of this and I wanted it all to be here for people to read. To know they are not alone and there are people out there in the same shape looking and struggling to lose weight it doesnt happen over night.

:welcome: Glad to have you join our chat here on the WISH board. Congrats on losing over 57lbs :goodvibes That is awesome!

Seems once you resolve it's going to happen & you start to see progress it gets a little easier. I've been frustrated to not have lost for about 2 mos but glad to be maintaining what I've got off so far. This is a lifestyle change DH & I keep telling each other so we're in it for the long haul :thumbsup2

I loved your report on Le Cellier!! I will have to make time to read the rest of your report now!! I was happy to put a face with your name :) Thank you for sharing you are very entertaining lol :) So Cute!!

you are very entertaining lol :)

I admit that is not the first time I've heard that....:rolleyes1

I hope you'll be able to read the rest in your "spare" time, whatever that is? WHo has ANY spare time anymore :confused3

ANyway, I'm tickled for you getting your LeCellier ADR :woohoo: All that's left is to figure out how to surprise your DD ;)

I have not had a 30 minute walk since Friday. How are you doing?

I made SOuth Beach friendly chili last night. It's cold in Ohio today, was in the upper 40s this am & is presently in the 50's so left over chili sounds good for dinner :goodvibes Especially now that it's had time to "fester" and taste even better :rotfl:

I'll admit I didnt walk today I started reading your thread and there I sat ALL DAY!! I loved it. I blame the cold this morning i could barely move it was so cold i didnt want to walk. But I need to force myself to do so tomorrow so I dont get lazy!!

Hi JG and TDTD
Thanks for your kind support - nice to know I'm not on my own in this thing. Been having a bit of a bad week to be honest - work is tough at the moment and the weather here is really getting me down (constant rain and temps of 16 max) We all need to keep motivated.
Went to class last Wednesday after hols to discover I had put on 7lb...not the end of the world. I've given myself 3 weeks to get back to where I was, but now the hol is over (no Disney for another 3 years unless we win the lottery!!) I'm needing a new incentive...any ideas???
I've decided this week to pay for a 12 week countdown at class, which basically means that if I pay for 10 weeks I get 2 weeks free, which takes me to after Christmas. I'm still doing the walking every day despite the weather, so that's good. I thought the temptation to park closer might have kicked in by now, but so far so good. Food is starting to call though, I'm starting to trawl the kitchen cupboards for stuff to snack on. Need to focus on the good stuff again and throw the Nutella away!!!!

Keep up the good work, and hopefully some more friends might join us to chat soon.

The weather here is yucky too I am lucky enough to have my tredmill but it still makes me want to just cuddle up in the morning instead of walking.
7lbs isnt so bad and 3 weeks should get rid of those lbs.
As far as an incentive for walking how about a new wardrobe? You have to be needing some new clothes once you lose the weight you want.
As long as youre still walking every day youre doing a great job, keep up the good work.
I know its not easy avoiding the snacks my issue is eating healthy for my regular meals I have been doing great with not snacking. I have been bad with eating alot of breaded foods :( I need to eat better i have been eating at home more which is great for saving $$ but now i need to focus on eating healthier.

Aww, sorry to hear of the gain, don't let it get you down. Work on it right away, it seems like when you do that it's easier to get it off quicker vs. letting it set up camp & hang on your body a while :rotfl:

One thing I've found that really gets me excited about something nutritious & good for you, I like to have a low sugar vanilla yogurt, stick it in the freezer maybe a half hour (during dinner) & then have it with some strawberries or frozen blueberries. It tastes just like a dessert but the best thing is it isn't, it's healthy & low fat! Try it & see if that doesn't knock out that sweet tooth.

Also pistachio nuts I think are a great snack. You have to "work" at eating them if you buy then shelled, it satifies your urge to crunch & have something salty.

Good for you walking every day - I'm impressed :thumbsup2

Please tell me you mean 16C and not 16F...burrr

I agree the breads & breaded foods call your name at night if you have too many of them :lmao: WHy? ANything with enriched or bleached flour will turn right into sugar in your bloodstream, the sugar creates cravings & you go right back after it. WEll, that's been my experience. Try getting yourself some real hearty whole grain breads full of fiber & see if that doesn't calm the urge to consume the carbs

Now ladies, without the rain there'd be no green things. And cold weather is GOOD for cuddling husbands so.... :rolleyes1

P.S. I haven't walked since last Friday either but we've had junk going on every night plus work every day. So I don't need to be up this late but I had some work I had to do at home then thought I'd check in here real quick..... I needed my "need to be held accountable" fix :surfweb:

:rotfl2: You're as naughty as I - I can be reading a TR & next thing I know, where'd the day go :lmao:

LOL but it was your thread so I blame YOU ;)for making it so entertaining. (ME for allowing myself to sit there) (weather for being so cold it was cold in my house) there all my excuses :rotfl2:

Ready for the excuses? I dont know why its there and but its easy to cook. And by the time im done Day care thats all I have ambition enough for is frozen foods. :(:(( I know I need to get better. As soon as I find the energy for making dinner I will be better :)

Excuses excuses excuses LOL I know Im full of them too:) I have to say i personally triumphed this morning I almost only walked half what i usually do i even reached for the stop button on my tredmill @_@ but I didnt i kept walking:cool1: I was so close lol I just dont like walking for exercise now put Disney in front of me and watch me go go go LOL

Disney is a great motivator :goodvibes so whatever works & gets you moving I say right on :thumbsup2

We had one of our big fund raisers at work so I've been buzy with that & not here to chat, but I want you to know that I've walked a couple of times & even last night took a 30 minute bike ride.

The fall weather has been so beautiful, the leaves are turning & the weather has been warm. So I've been taking full advantage of it :woohoo:

I have to keep myself motivated to move! I keep thinking of that theme song from the movie Madagascar, "You've got to move it move it, move it" Makes me laugh & think about "moving it"

Last weekend was rough, 2 parties, 2 bottles of wine......

Monday morning I was up 5 lbs  :scared1: I jumped back on the band wagon & today it's only up 2 lbs. I can fix that ;)

But I was thinking about our lifestyle change since the day after Easter, I lost over 35 lbs prior to our WDW trip in early August. I had really hoped to have 50 lbs off by end of AUgust & that hasn't happened. This extra weight has taken up real estate on my body & isn't going to budge without a long fight. So even though I haven't lost really any more since our trip, I have to think that I've maintained it and losing slowly will ensure it stays off & never comes back. So although I wish I had more off by now, I've still got over 35 lbs off & am comfortably wearing a size smaller than when I started & even fit into a 2 size smaller dress at the store last month so I'm trying not to feel discouraged about not losing much in 2 months.

Jenn, I think you were right from the beginning, setting a goal of 2 years to lose 100 lbs. Truely, I am finding it will take every bit that amount of time. Since I'm 6 months into this & haven't got my 50 lbs off, I do think I can get another 15 lbs off surely by next April :confused3 and that would put me at the 1 year mark. So in the 2nd year I can get the next 50 lbs off.

I really had hoped it wouldn't take this long, I hear of others losing rapidly but then I wonder the rest of the story. Did they keep it off? That's my big goal, whatever I lose, I want to keep it off.

I'm home today, getting laundry started :laundy: and then I'm off for a nice long walk. I'm going to do that for myself :goodvibes
