Need to bank by 7/31 but MS is closed

We need to bank our points by 7/31 but it's a Sunday and MS is closed. Does that mean I have to bank them tomorrow or does MS give you until the next business day? The reason I ask is that DH and I need to discuss our trip this November and I'd like the whole weekend to let him mull it over.



Also, if I bank them and decide I need them, will MS use the bank points first?

It is open? I totally thought it was closed. I've been in Utah too long; everything is closed Sundays.

You can bank online? Can you cancel a reservation too online?

On my banking deadline I woke up in a sweat at 10:15 PM because I forgot. I hopped on here and asked the same question and was advised to do it online (so long since I'd been, they weren't online then!). It worked like a charm.

When MS wasn't open on Sundays, they did not give you a break for the Monday if it crossed over the banking deadline.

Thanks all! It is open and I found the bank points area. Looks like I'll have to call though to cancel. I don't see a cancel option.

If I decide to book something, will they use the banked points first or do I have to direct them when I make the reservation?

Occasionally they close for training and holidays. My information suggests that when this crosses a banking window, they will not bank after the fact. As noted, one can always bank online.

Remember you can also bank on line at the DVC member web site. That works even when MS is not open.

There's really no reason to wait until the last day of your banking deadline before doing that. If you know that you're not going to be using those points then banking a day (week, month) before your deadline won't hurt and it could help avoid a long wait on the phone because of all those that did wait.

You have to tell them to bank. They will not automatically do it for you.

They will use banked or borrowed points first IF they are already in the UY of the reservation. They will not automatically substitute them later if you bank them after the reservation is made. Sometimes they insist on using home resorts points even after the 7 month window.

Good point. I wasn't sure if you could bank more than once during a UY so I decided to call. Sometimes the rules confuse me. I can't believe I just canceled a night at the GCV.

That's what he told me. So if I decide to add back Nov at the DLH I'll have to borrow from next year as it's before my new UY.

They will not unbank the banked points and the points must be physically in the UY of the reservation. Same for exchange options with limited exceptions for reservations that fall beyond a reachable UY.
