When I first made my reservations, my math (which might have been faulty...) indicated that it would be better to pay out OOP. However, after adding a few sit down meals that I wanted I've realized we should be on the regular DDP after all.

A nice CM on the phone just gave me the number to call to add it so it sounds like I can go ahead and do that ahead of time. I'm sort of having trouble getting ahold of my TA (I used them b/c they were running a special where I could get a free water park ticket, which is nice, but annoying when I don't get a call back or an email back) so I'd like to figure out if I'm going to screw things up by just calling Disney myself, giving them my info and adding the DDP?

Anyone having experience with adding a DDP later in the process? Anyone have experience going straight to Disney instead of your TA when you can't get a call back? :crazy2:

Disney will not let you make any changes to a reservation you made via a travel agent. They consider the travel agent the owner of that reservation, not the client.

if you have a package reservation, you can add DDP to your reservation anytime up to 3 days before arrival. 2 days for a DVC reservation. A room only reservation will have to be cancelled and rebooked as a package to add a dining plan.

As the pp said, the TA "owns" your reservation until you check in, so your TA will have to call and add the DDP as Disney will not talk to you regarding the reservation.
