We are going in March and just found out my thrill seeking daughter is pregnant with her first child!!!! She is stressed over what she can and can not do. Her baby is due in July/August. She has tried so long to have a baby and this is truly a blessing and she does not want to take any chances. Is there a thread for rides when you are pregnant? Any advice? Thanks so much!! :sunny:

I'd just say no rough rides (coasters).. any ride that says don't ride if pregnant.. maybe check allears or check out disneyworld's site and go through the rides and see.

Hope you all have a fun trip. There are plenty of rides she can still do, I'd say any that little kids can!

There are alot of rides saying do not ride if pregnat.I found out I was preganant on first few days of my trip.I decided not to go on anything.Personally I didnt think it was worth the risk - Id never of forgiven myself,

As the other posters have mentioned, there are usually signs by the ride entrance that state that expectant mothers should not ride - one I rememer from our day trip a couple of weeks ago was the Safari at AK.

Also, depending on how she's feeling (morning sickness, etc.) some of the rides for kids may not agree with her. We rode the Pooh ride, and as I was riding it, I kept thinking that it might not be good for someone who was prone to motion sickness.

Congrats to your daughter!

Most rides with any rocking motion will have that caution. Obvously roller coasters are out. But her doctor would be the best person to say what she can really do despite the warnings.

Take a list of all the attractions (yes--ALL of them). Have her mark the ones she's interested in but not sure of--take those to the doc and have him say yea or nea.

For example--Kilimanjaro safari has the warning. I have ridden it as have many other pregnant women. The signs will be up for anything that has sudden motion even if the ride in and of itself isn't a problem.

Her doctor would be the best one to discern if a ride is really an issue or not.

However--this is really nothing to stress about and that IMHO would be more of an issue than some of the rides themselves.

That's the link for tips for expectant moms.

I went to WDW when I was pregnant with my 1st. I didn't know what to expect, but ended up being so sick. I had all day sickness, never mind morning sickness!!! I am not a thrill ride person so it was no big deal to avoid the rides with drops. I did go on Pirates and it has a very small drop. I was able to go on alot of attractions and there are so many shows to see so it really kept me busy. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. I would avoid the Safari in AK. That really is shaky and bumpy. The best thing to do is go by what her Dr. says. Also by her instincts.
One tip I could give if she is feeling sick. Carry a lemon, cut open and take a sniff of it when feeling nauseus. If the nausea is really bad, then suck on the lemon and it will alleviate the nausea. Something about the acid in that fruit. It was a lifesaver for me for both pregnancies!!!
Good luck and congrats to your family, a new baby is so exciting!!
Oh, make sure she keeps hydrated and takes lots of breaks to just sit and take it easy.
