First a quick backstory... My DS (13) is a Disney nut and for the last few winters his grandparents have flown him to FL over a school long week-end and he and FIL have gone to the parks. (In-laws live in DC area near us, but spend month or so in FL in timeshares.) This fall DS's trip is arranged for MLK week-end and plans are made for him to visit parks and volunteer at GKTW with FIL. while arrangements were being made FIL starts having trouble with his hip. We start researching scooters. Three days ago FIL sees doctor and is scheduled for hip replace, not surgery to be done when they were to be in FL. So, their trip is cancelled.
After conversations with the in-laws, my boss, and DH we have decided that I GET TO GO TO DISNEY WORLD! Sorry, I'm a little excited
So, trip is just over 2 weeks away and no planing has really been done... We will fly in arriving very late Friday night. DS is signed up for a breakfast shift at GKTW on Sunday and really wants to visit a water park. So, I'm thinking of buying a 2-day park hopper right away so we can at least make some FP+. If I do that can we still add the water parks and more to the tickets once we know the conditions will be favorable? My thought is parks on Sat, GKTW and water park on Sunday, parks on Monday, other plus feature (suggestions?) on Tuesday morning before heading to the airport.
I must admit I'm confused and overwhelmed. We usually buy annual passes and go many times in the year, but timing isn't right to buy passes now, we generally buy them midsummer so we can go over two summers....
Any thoughts, advice, ideas welcome! I haven't been to the world since July 2014 what have I missed?
