Need the Help of the Experts Please........

As I am still new to making decisions regarding DVC, and they do say more heads are better than one...........

Ok, I will need to book for the September Labour Day Weekend of 2005. DD wants to stay at the Boardwalk since we will only be staying for 2 nights (Saturday and Sunday, One Bedroom). Will I have a problem booking this at the 7 month window? Or should I just go ahead and book at Home at SSR?

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!

You shouldn't have a problem booking BWV at the 7 month window for September, even though it will be Labor Day weekend - unless you want either a standard view or a Boardwalk view.

However, if I were in this position, I would book my home resort at the 11 month window and then call to switch at the 7 month window. That way, if the 1 bedroom at BWV wasn't available, I'd still have a place to stay.

I am new to this too, and I am chiming in simply because of advice I've seen here already. I think those with more experience will suggest that you book the SSR ressie right away so you definitely have that...then at the 7 mos. window, try to change to the other hotel. You'll at least have the one, and maybe get the other.

The strategy of booking at the home resort at 11 months, and then switching to another resort at 7 months is generally a good one. After all, if worst comes to worst, then you still have a reservation for the dates you want to go. This really only works for those who own at a WDW DVC resort and want to go to WDW.

It really works well in your case, since the BWV reservation will be more points than the SSR reservation. While this isn't an issue when dealing with one year's points, it can get a little tricky if you have to borrow points to make a reservation and then switch to a lesser point DVC resort.

Weekend points for Sept, you should have no problem even if you want standard view. But I'd definitely book at your home resort in the interim for that added guarantee.
