We're coming a month ahead of DD's birthday because the Christmas crowds would be too much for us all, especially her!! But I want to do something extra special for HER to celebrate her birthday early and I can't find that special something to surprise her with. She'll be 1 month shy of 9 years old and we'll be there 11/8-11/17.

She's done BBB twice before, the GF Tea Party with Mad Hatter & Alice, the Wishes boat ride with the pirates & Peter Pan at the end (forgive me as I forgot the name of this event), the Frozen Dessert Party (not even sure that'll be around in November again), and the Tomorrowland Dessert Party so I think to repeat any of these, won't do much for her. We already booked the Christmas Party but I'm looking for something that will make her feel special.

Help?!? Any suggestions?!? I also want to order her a custom cake/dessert. Are there any particular places where they come out, sing happy birthday and make a big deal out of it?

No, is that even around though in November? I think the dates are all in summer/early fall? And how do you get to/from it? Thanks! =)

We saw it in December a few years ago. It runs year round. I second the suggestion. It's really great.

Thank you - I'll definitely have to check it out. I saw they had shows on 11/10 but we have MVMCP that night. So hoping for another show during our week.

It's kind of pricey, but have you done the Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Grand Floridian? If you think she's too old for the princess action, how about the afternoon tea at the GF? Maybe an appointment at the salon to have her done in a more grown up style before the Christmas party?

It's located in Downtown Disney.

And don't waste your money on front and center or category 1 seats. Category 2 (or even category 3) seats are much better.

i wonder if i have to call events as I couldn't get it to show more than that one day.

When my daughter turned 11 we did the horseback riding at Fort Wilderness and she loved it.

They don't have shows on sondays and mondays. The only other day they don't have a show in November is the 17th.

I just got off the phone and they run everyday but Sunday & Monday. The irony of it all is Sunday was the best day for us so going to have to work the calendar and move things around! Thanks so much again!!

Oh and one more, any recommendations on places that we can have a cake or special dessert delivered to where they would sing happy birthday and kind of make a big deal out of it? We have so many character breakfasts going on I was hoping for one of those places that may get a character involved too (my daughter would definitely not be upset to have a dessert to finish off breakfast..lol)

I'm not sure there's anywhere you can get a character involved in it. There will likely be other kids with birthdays wondering why they aren't getting the same.

I had the Chocolate Slipper delivered to my daughter at CRT on her 9th birthday. She loved it. :)

My husband and daugther did that for me last year...LOVED that chocolate slipper. Will probably do something like that again. Thanks!! =)

I'm going to suggest the Illuminations cruise since you've done MK fireworks events already. Honestly, the only way you can guarantee WDW staff will acknowledge and celebrate a birthday in a big way is if you pay for the experience. There is no way to guarantee people are going to sing happy birthday to her or to guarantee a character will get involved. There are just far too many celebrations taking place at WDW for them to acknowledge all of them in a big way. The only place I've seen it happen consistently is at Tokyo Dining where they are constantly bringing out pieces of cake and singing happy birthday. Another spot is Beaches and Cream where the lights go off and sirens go on when you order the kitchen sink. With an Illuminations cruise you can actually pay to have them decorate the boat and even order from private dining so you could have snacks and/or dinner and a cake! It's a birthday party on a boat with fireworks at the end - kind of fun!

I agree with this. I had second row seats and the bike part scared the crap out of me. I thought if this guy doesn't stop his bike before the end of the stage I'm getting a face full of tire. Or one of those flying things the girls were tossing around could give me a concussion. I might be the only one who worries about this stuff though.

Where do I find out information on this?? Thank you!! (Illuminations cruise)

Absolutely agree! My neck would not have survived front and center. We were in the upper level (Cat 2 or 3, can't recall) and the view was spectacular.
