I am having some loading issues. It takes forever to enter a room . Last night Belle beat me into my own room for a trade and waited a while for me to enter. Forget trying to go through inventory (over 5 minute wait per page). Only things that loads normal speed are my pins. No changes have been made to computer. I have cleaned the disk, defrag, and even did a system restore. This problem started last weekend. Any advice outside of throwing the computer out of the window is greatly appreciated. If this is in another thread, please forgive and direct me there.
 
You could try to clear all of your temporary internet files and your cookies. That sometimes helps.

If you email vmk about it, they will tell you to do the same as well as placing most of your funiture into storage rooms so it isn't on your character.

I have the exact same problem!
It's even getting to the point that when I'm trying to enter a room that has to do that loading thing first, and VMK will disconnect me out of the game for not moving @_@
I wish I knew how to fix it, it takes all the fun out of the game :(
 
I had the same problem last weekend. My computer is pretty fast, but this was the first time it took me at least three to five minutes to enter a public or a private room. I had to delete all my temporary internet files and cookies, and clean out my C Drive on my computer, but after that, everything is working fine.

BTW, I also e-mailed VMK Contact Us, and after about a week they e-mailed me back and pretty much recommended the same things mentioned above.

I did that except clearing the C Drive...what is in there?
and would I have to worry about deleting anything important if I cleared my C drive?

Thanks it is a little faster but not where it use to be.
 
If you haven't installed any new software or hardware on your computer and the only site that is giving you problems is VMK, it could be something running in the background. VMK is quite a resources "hog" Is your virus scan working extra ? Is it only during certain times of the day that this happens? Only certain days? Let me know.

I didn't have a problem until the Pirate's Ride-A-Thon last week Saturday. Starting Saturday evening, it would take several minutes for me to log into VMK, when it normal took me seconds, and then it started taking me several minutes to enter rooms. I thought it was because of the Ride-A-Thon.

And then on Sunday it took me 20 to 30 minutes to get into VMK at least on my computer, and even when I was using a character that had practically nothing on him, it still took me 3 to 5 minutes at least to enter a room.

I tried deleting all my temporary internet files, cookies, and passwords first, but that didn't work.

I didn't have problems going onto other websites, just VMK, so I thought it could have been a Flash or Shockwave problem, so I tried removing them, and then uploading them first. But that didn't work.

I noticed that other people were able to get onto VMK, and I could read the message boards, so I knew it was not a widespread problem, just a possible problem with my computer.

I tried e-mailing VMK, but I knew I wouldn't get an answer until much later.

It wasn't until I cleaned out the C Drive on my computer that the problem went away for me. Basically you are freeing up disk space on your computer hard drive so you have more free space on your computer. I think you also delete some temporary files/temporary internet files that you don't delete just by using the Control Panel.

In many work and school environments, Active X is disabled and you may
be locked out of the option to enable it. If so, we suggest trying the
game from home.

CACHE
Make sure your browser’s cache is cleared. This will ensure that
when you restart the game, the most recent information is displayed. This
will also force your browser to reload the entire screen, so it may
take a few minutes to get started again.

CUSTOM SECURITY LEVEL
If you are using a custom security level on your browser, make sure
that Active X controls are enabled in your Preferences menu.

POP UP BLOCKERS
If you currently have pop up blockers enabled on your browser, you may
have difficulty logging into VMK.

CYBERSITTER
If you are using Cybersitter to access VMK, you will need to allow
access to the following URLs for VMK to work:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

requirements, you will experience difficulties with VMK.

MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER SECURITY POP UPS
This popular browser requires you to click “yes” to the statement
“This page contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to
display the nonsecure items?”

PORTS
Your computer must be permitted to make a connection to the VMK servers
using a special protocol required by Shockwave. If you are using a
personal firewall or are accessing the internet from a firewall-protected
office, it may block access to VMK. See the above list of addresses
which need to be accepted (under CYBERSITTER). For the game to
function, TCP ports 80, 30000-30004, 30061, and 30062 must also be open.

Though you may not receive another message from us regarding this
issue, please know that we are researching the cause of the problem and will
work hard to fix it.
