I need to get some swim diapers for DS. He will be almost 6 mos. when we go to WDW in April. I always used Huggies Little Swimmers when my other kids were babies, but the smallest size starts at 16 lbs. My little guy is just a little over 12 lbs right now, so he will definitely not be 16 lbs in a month and a half. I know they sell reusable ones in some of the baby catalogs, but I have no experience with them. Any help is appreciated!:)

Never used the reusable swim diapers, but Pampers makes swim diapers now, too. I don't remember what they call them, but maybe they will come smaller. Good luck!

You will probably be ok with the diapers for 16 pounders. You can buy them and try it on before you go. You'll probably end up using them over the summer anyway.

I don't know the size for the pamper ones I used, but they were pretty small. I think even using the 16 lb ones would be fine .I have yet to have my kids make it to weight limits on diapers anyways. They are into the next size before they ever reach the top weight.

I have used the re-usable swim diaper (the palstic ones) since swim school will only accept this. Can't use the diapossable ones there.

From my experince, the re-usable swim diaper leaks. Doesn't absorb much. Disaposable are much better. Still need to change after a while a a beach but not the problems as a re-usable swim diaper.

Try the smallest size, it will do the trick. My DD was a preemie and always weighs less for her age. The smallest size fit good on her even though she was under the weight.

We use the Wee Wave swim diapers from Target. I think they have them in stock now.

I used them on my kids when they were young.

My oldest was about 3 months & she was probably about 10 lbs, if that.

My oldest & 2nd child didn't were both about 16 lbs when they were one & they used the swim diapers with out a hitch.

My youngest (who is 1 today), I used them on her last summer & she wasn't at the lowest weight yet either.

Thanks for the quick replies! I think I'll buy the smallest size Little Swimmers and see how they fit. If they don't work, I'll still have time to explore more options. Thanks again!

My baby started swim classes at four months old and no where near 16 pounds, but the smalls fit just fine. In fact, he's now 25 pounds and still in mediums, so I don't know how the heck they really size those. I've also used "cloth" swim diapers and swim shorts with diaper linings with no problem - I got the swim shorts/diaper at Target and the swim diaper at Kmart.

:) When we brought our then 11 week old DD last Setember, she weighed about 10-12 pounds and fit perfect in the size small Lil Swimmers. We actually had a bunch left over from when our 7 year old was a baby and I was glad to be able to use them. LOL Funny enough, she was also wearing a size 12 months bathing suit.

:) Try the Swimmers...I'll bet they will work fine! Have a great trip! :yay:

We took DD#3 when she was just 3 mo. old. I used the smallest, which I think were 16 lbs. they worked fine for her.

I found the Lil Swimmers worked just fine, as we used them for swim class at the Y. I think they are a snugger fit than pull ups.

Had a really hard time convincing my youngest after he was potty trained that you don't need to wear a "swim dippy". I just let him finish the pack and told him that's it.

Thanks everyone! I bought some Little Swimmers and even though he's small they look like they'll fit him fine. I wish I had the same problem as does. I am still trying to lose the baby weight and am not looking forward to putting a bathing suit on! :scared:

I had the same issue with my DS.
