Pleading for some DVC member help here! We are planning to go to Hawaii in December of 2005 for our 10 year anniversary. I know I need to start planning now, but just not sure where to begin. (I'm a little intimidated by this planning--I'm so used to our vacations only being to WDW or semi-local places I'm not used to going in "blind").We aren't planning to use our points, but might be interested in renting someone's timeshare. Since all you DVC folks know the accommodations we're used to and many here seem to be very knowledgeable about this subject, I thought I'd start here. We're planning on it just being dh and I so we don't necessarily need something as extensive as a one or two bedroom, I'd be happy with an oceanview hotel type room, but I do want it to be oceanview, and I want it to be in a nice hotel(at least 4 stars). Would I be better off with a regular hotel room or should I try and rent studio-type accommodations from someone?

I've joined TUG, and I know I'll need to start looking at the rental pages over there, but I hate to put in for a rental without having airfare, and it looks like it will be a while before airfare for those dates is available. Also, what airlines are good for flying to Hawaii? Would we definitely fly into Honolulu? We'll be flying a long way, so we may even splurge for first class for this one.

What are the must-see attractions? I know I'm way ahead of myself on this one, but I am getting excited!

Thanks in advance!

Jen

Do a search with my name and the words Hawaii for this board and you should get quite a bit.
