We are DL first-timers, but WDW vets, and we are spending 2-3 days there on a visit to California next May. We don't do commando touring, but we want to make sure we see and ride the things that they don't have in WDW. It's myself, DH, and DD(who will be 9). She loves the princesses, especially Ariel and Jasmine, and we would probably like to do a character meal with the princesses. What else should we do while we are there?

It feels really strange to be planning a Disney trip, and not know where to start. We have probably made 10-12 WDW trips in the last 8 years, plus taken 4 DCL cruises, but we are hopelessly lost when it comes to DL!

Suggestions?

I would for sure plan on doing 3 days. Especially if you're not commando touring types (I'm not either :thumbsup2 ).

Plan to do the princess character meal on the day you visit DCA.

What else should you do while you're there?.......EVERYTHING! :rotfl:

I mean, if it's you're first trip to DL/DCA, try as much as you can. You may not have enough time to watch every show/parade in three days, but three days is definately enough time to ride everything (more than once), and to see most shows.

Just go and HAVE FUN! :cool1:

You need to check out HydroGuy's thread on "WDW vets going to DL for the first time." It's has alot of great info for folks like you. Last year at this time we went to WDW for the first time, and did not know what to expect. So I know how it feels. DL will be alot easier to navigate and plan for. There are alot of attractions packed into the parks, so it will take some time. And even if some of the rides are the same, still go on them to compare the differences. It's fun. I think you will love DL. It is very intimate and has alot a stuff packed in every nook and cranny. Have a great time planning. :tinker:

Wow, Hydroguy, you really are a DL expert! That was great info, just what I needed. We are now definitely spending 3 nights at DL, so I'll put your suggestions to good use. Thanks a lot!
