Need Suggestions for Birthday Surprise

We're going to WDW in December and while we are there, it will be our daughter's birthday. We would like to surprise her with something special on "her" day! Any suggestions? Does anyone know if they allow individuals to participate in any of the parades or something like that? Thanks.

We celebrated my DD's 7th at WDW last year. I'm not sure about the parades, but be sure that you stop and get a "It's my birthday" button.

We surprised her by having a Little Mermaid T-Shirt (it's her favorite character) in a Disney box (there's a shop at DTD that also does airbrushing). I also made a PS at Crystal Palace and was given a card with the PS on it. I put this in the box with the T-Shirt. We told her that it was a special delivery from Mickey and that he had made a special reservation for her at the Crystal Palace. While eating at the Crystal Palace, they have the kids go around the room with Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eyeore. My DD did this and while she was gone, the server came back with a cupcake (candle on top), a birthday card and special confetti. The CMs at the Crystal Palace did an awesome job making this a very special event.

My DD still talks about it to this day and tells everyone that Mickey remembered her birthday and knew that Little Mermaid was her favorite and that Minnie and Daisy baked her a special cupcake. I love the "magic" of Disney and just how real it really is.

I asked the concierge at the Poly to decorate our room. When we returned from the parks the room was full of balloons and streamers. They also gave him a pictured signed by Peter Pan! My DS 8 was thrilled. At home we do the same thing, while the kids are asleep I decorate their room. When they awake on their B-day morning, they know that the "B-Day fairy" came.

Just returned from dd's surprise 6th trip at GF last week. Per advise from fellow DIS people, I had it noted on all reservations and PS's. GF delivered a signed photo on Cinderell to our room . A complete surprise! During dinner at 1900, Prince Charming delivered the birthday cake I had ordered and he personally sang to her! We awoke the next morning to a message from Mickey and Minnie singing her happy birthday. CRT and Chef Mickey's both had the tables decorated and brought out cupcakes. They had everyone sing to DD. All of this was a complete surprise and above and beyond what I could have wished for, and helped enhance great memories for me and DD. A DIS'er once adviced to not "expect" anything extra from the trip, just enjoy everything. That way any extras provided will be a bonus! Just another example of why we all love WDW!!!

I took my DD to WDW for her 11th b.day. Per her request, we did 5 resorts in 8 nts. (whew) - I made note of it on every PS, & because it was during the school year (I'm a teacher & got special permission to take a week off due to trauma my DD had suffered the year before & REALLY needed/deserved a SPECTACULAR birthday), CM's kept asking her all week WHY she was there - whenever she replied," to celebrate my birthday", they made a HUGE deal out of it, no matter where we were - in a shop @ MGM, at the Cyber Zone @ Disney Quest, etc... - every PS did something - a cupcake, singing w/ characters, a button, leading the stick horse race @ WCC, a certificate, helping Sundy with the songs @ the campfire... - it was an incredible week! The only thing I specifically requested was a card signed by Mickey on the day of our arrival & it was delivered to our room. I also had WDW florist send a Mickey's snack bag with balloons. The Poly surprised us with a cake, balloons, & party hats & we only stayed there 1 night during our resort hopping journey - Disney is a GREAT place to celebrate birthdays!
