Hey there fellow Disney lovers!! :disrocks: Speaking of "lovers", I need some help with some arrangements that me and my siblings are trying to make.

It will be our parents' 35th Anniversary this year!! We are going to Disney World in May, and therefore are on a very tight schedule to get some ADRs booked! We want to plan a dinner for them, but we aren't sure where it should be...

They aren't into really fancy dining...like V&A...but a nicer, casual place is fine...like Narcoosee's, Jiko, etc.

However, on that same note, they rarely eat "non-traditional" cuisines...in other words, they don't really like Japanese food, sushi, liver  , etc. They also like more "hardy" meals...oh, and one other thing...we (the children) may or may not join them...not sure yet...so if there are some places that are more "romantic" for just two people in love :lovestruc please mention that!!

Any suggestions that you have with these criteria would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

TIA!! :goodvibes

In order, my choices would be:
Jiko
Yachtsman
Narcoosee's
Citrico's

(I leave California Grill off the list only because it is generally noisy and crowded.)

We had an AMAZING "Sweethearts Meal" at Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge. Amazing food, outstanding service! :woohoo:

We enjoyed Tutto Italia in Epcot very much. We had our Anniversay buttons and were treated to a song & special dessert!

If you haven't already, maybe you should check out some of the menus and see what your parents might like for a meal.

Are you just looking for signature dining or are you looking for any nice restaurant on property? I recently asked my husband which the the signature dining menus actually appealed to him and he said Yachtsman Steakhouse, Narcoossee's and Artist Point. He's pretty picky but he was able to find something listed on those menus that he thought he might enjoy.

Good luck to you!! :goodvibes

Le Cellier
Yachtman's Steakhouse
Flying Fish
Rose & Crown (if you can get patio seating, they can have a nice view for IllumiNations which can be romantic :lovestruc)
Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner (there's no place more romantic than Cindy's Castle :lovestruc) ...

Oh! And I forgot some of the resorts (I think just a few of the Deluxe resorts) offer romantic packages. Here's an example of the wording from the Grand Floridian's:

Our Romantic Packages...For guests seeking that special dining experience, our Romance Packages are the perfect answer. The Romance Packages are carefully selected menus served in the privacy of your own suite, on board our yacht, the Grand I, or one of our float boats or in one of many secluded and romantic venues around the hotel.

We also offer the option of serving items from the menus from any of our restaurants or have our Chefs customize a menu, tailored to your specific wishes. The meal is served butler-style, presenting each course separately. Our Private Dining managers will gladly assist in creating the perfect evening for you.

Pricing depends upon the individual options selected

I don't know if this could/would be an option for you, but I thought I would throw it out there for you! Good luck! :goodvibes

Dh and I did Narcoossee's for our 6th wedding anniversary and fell in love with it. Our ressies were 15 minutes before Wishes started so we got to go out on the deck and watch it. They pipe the music in the restaurant and dim the lights. It was my favorite time ever seeing Wishes!

Oh, by the way, the food is wonderful. We had the calamari app, Dh had the lobster and I had the surf and turf (I had the filet well done and it was still like butter!)

I like these choices not sure about Cindy's castle though, but Artist Point in Wilderness Lodge came to mind. So many fantastic restaurants, it will be interesting to see which one you finally settle on. Good luck!:cheer2:

Thanks for the link! They like a lot of different foods, but mostly "American"
Signature dining is great, but if there is another nice restaurant that isn't signature, but still really good, I'm definitley still open for those suggestions!

Thanks for the help!! :thumbsup2

My dad loved Le Cellier last time!!! But its soo hard to get a reservation, especially since we are so close to our travel date! Do you think there is a good chance of doing a walk up and being able to get in?

Thanks for your response!!! :goodvibes

That sounds really great! My whole family loves wishes, so that could be romantic...and the food sounds like just what the doctor ordered! :yay:

I agree about cindy's castle, my family has been there before and they weren't huge fans of it...I think most of that is for the atmosphere...

Artist Point sounds nice...is the food pretty good?

Thanks for your help!! :thumbsup2

For our 5th wedding anniversary in October of 2008, I booked the private dinner at the Grand Floridian and it was absolutely awesome! We had our own private balcony outside overlooking the lake, the GF swimming pool and to your left you could see the top of the castle. We were able to see the fireworks from Illuminations, the Electric Water Parade and the Hallowishes fireworks. You get your own private butler for the night and when you call to set things up, they ask your likes and dislikes as far as food, and the chef makes up a menu just for you. Water is included but you can add on wine or anything you like. Dessert is served to coordinate with the fireworks. They gave us shrimp cocktail, salad and hubby had poached tilapia in paper (he eats pretty much anything. loves seafood) and I don't really eat fish except for shell fish so they gave me filet mignon and crab poached in butter. OMG! :worship: Food was great. The butler knows when to appear and disappear and his service was impeccable. I don't think they do the private dinner anywhere around the resort anymore, but you get your own private balcony that I believe is on a concierge floor that you need a special key to get to, so you are pretty much alone most of the time. The butler said if it rains, they have a room one floor above with a huge window that gives you the same view but you are inside. It's pretty expensive, we paid $85 per person (cost is based on what food you get) and then there is a $75 butler fee and whatever else you add on. However, a once in a lifetime opportunity and for us, totally worth it. I surprised by DH with it and he thought it was fabulous! I callled 407-824-2578 and left a message. They got back to me pretty quick.

Whatever you decide, have a great vacation and happy anniversary to your parents! :flower3:
