suite near US/IOA. I'm going crazy trying to pin one down!! :rotfl: Any help appreciated!

Is it actual recommendations you're looking for - or just suggestions? Have only stayed at Homewood Suites by Hilton, which are 1 bed suites so no good for you. But Enclave Suites might be OK.

I did consider Enclave but the reviews seem to be really mixed. The ones that hate it absolutely scare me. I think it's because each one is individually owned and so they vary accordingly.
What did you think of Homewood Suites? It was originally one of my first choices and they have a 1 br with 2 queens and a pull out in the lr. It would work; just not exactly the layout I wanted, ya know? ;)

The Homewood Suites were OK - not the most modern of places but certainly clean enough - and the 1 bed suite was very spacious. Our stay included a complimentary breakfast.

Another Disney site (for UK posters) has a couple of recent positive reviews of the Enclave suites, although to be fair I don't think we Brits are as fussy over our accommodations as the Americans seem to be (judging from various reviews I've read on Tripadvisor).

Hope this helps :)

Staybridge, Residence and Hawthorn Suites often have a few 2BR units. I have not stayed in any of them in Orlando though. I have stayed in them in other cities and was happy with Staybridge and Residence Inn, not so happy with Hawthorn.

I just noticed Travelzoo is running a special at the Residence Inn near the convention center. A 2BR is only $99. (Smaller rooms are less.)

We stayed at Enclave for one night a few weeks ago and it was awful. I would not recommend this hotel based on the following:

1. It was dirty...yes it is old and it shows they really need to update a tad bit. The floors were still dirty and the toilets did not work in our room.

2. We were in the first tower to the left and it only had one working elevator, since we were up on the 10th floor this meant a 20 minute wait to go downstairs.

3. Staff, the younger lady who checked us in was great but the rest could care less. We booked a 2BR 2BA terrace suite, this way my mom could smoke. The first room they gave us was a kids room with 2 bunk beds. Well with my mom this would not work so I had to go and prove what room I booked then they moved us. When I had to call down to find out the staus on the crib at 7pm they kept putting me on hold or not answering the phone.

4. The room we ended up in had tile floors instead of carpet and they were not ones that were non skid so when it was wet, it rained that night, it was slick. My 8mo old was crawling and slipped and busted her mouth, lots of blood, no more floor time for her there.

5. Beds are hard and small :)

Okay that is the bad, but the good was the price we got the 2br 2ba terrace suite for $99 and we could see Hogswart Castle from our Terrace so that was nice.

This is what scares me; especially considering that the general consensus seems to be that the 2br/2ba ones are the better quality. We're taking my mom as well; a decent bed is a definite must for her back!

Thanks all for the input -- huge help! :hippie:

It's farther from Universal, but the Floridays resort is very nice. We stayed there for a quick weekend trip to see some friends last month and liked it so much we booked it again for our Universal trip in November. It's quite new and updated and very roomy. The pool is great and its literally around the corner from a grocery store. They did have shuttles to the parks, but we always drive so I can't really comment on those.

Happy Hunting!

suite near US/IOA. I'm going crazy trying to pin one down!! :rotfl: Any help appreciated!

I paid 109.00 for one night at the Holiday INN and Suites right across from Universal. This was a walk in rate, I am sure I could have done a lot better but after a 15 hour drive I just wanted some rest!
This was a two bedroom suite..two full bedrooms and two bathrooms. It also had a microwave, fridge, dishwasher, etc.

They are renovating right now, I am not sure when that is finished. But staff was nice there. When the renovations are done it should be very nice and new!

Well, after days and days of searching for a room for all of us; my mom dropped out. So, just the four of us. I think ;) I've decided between Doubletree Suites LBV and Quality Suites LBV. They both have 1 BR kings, close to US/IOA/SW/and DTD.

Thanks everyone for their suggestions!
