Hello all, i'm in a pickle. Quick catch up i'm planning our wedding for Feb. 1, 2008 at Sea Breeze Pointe. It will be a escape/intimate with about 13 guests there. The wedding is going to be very relaxed and casual. My problem is whether I should wear and rent a tux. I saw this really nice tuxedo at carolyn's with a mickey vest that I love but i'm also spending around $200 for the rental. Where as I just bought a new suit thats really nice. Should I save myself $200 and just where my new suit. And again this is going to be really casual...we are wearing our flip flops to the wedding. Let me know your input please

Alot of tuxes now a days are "suit" styles and alot of people opt for wearing their own suit...I do not see a problem with wearing your own attire...HTH! Congrats!

If your wedding is going to be that casual and at Seabreeze, I vote for the nice suit. Especially if you're going to be wearing flip flops.

I agree with SRUAlm, If you're going to go with the flip flops, go with the suit. Especially if you're going to be more comfortable in it.

I agree with the suit but wear something that you feel comfortable in.. you dont want to be miserable in your attire

Definitely wear the suit! DH wore a suit (and didn't even buy a new one) and our wedding sounds like it was more formal than yours. You could always buy a Mickey tie!

We are wearing flip-flops at our wedding too at Sea Breeze Point. I am all about comfort. My DF is wearing a casual white or black button down possibly tropical shirt and khaki pants. I want him to be comfortable and casual. I also want him to get more use out of his attire than for just one night. He could always wear it on our cruise. If you had to go with suit or tux definately suit.

I'm getting married at SBP too and everyone in my bridal party is wearing flip-flops :goodvibes DF and his groomsmen will be wearing nice tan suits. Originally, only DF was going to wear a suit and his groomsmen were going to just wear button down shirts and khakis b/c we felt bad asking them to spend the $ to purchase suits. We just found out yesterday that Absolutely Fitting rents tan suits at a very reasonable price, so all the groomsmen will be wearing that now :)

I think wearing a tux w/ flip-flops may look a bit funny. A tux is so formal, and flip-flops are not. That's totally just my opinion, it may end up looking really cool. Good luck :)

I saw a beach wedding on Platinum weddings & the groom & groomsman wore this off white(or white) comfy cotton beach pants & a buton down shirt untucked.
The look was really crisp & it looked really good, even with the bride in her dress & I even think he wore flip flops.
If i find the photos I will post the link...it was really nice, better than how Im explaining it

Good luck

suit. we're getting married at SBP as well in september and my fiance is going for a suit too.. we're both more casual type people and want everyone to feel comfortable and cool ....

I'm even feeling sorta weird wearing a huge white poofy dress to be honest! (I haven't bought one yet.. just tried some on)...

anyway.. my vote goes for the suit!

Wear the suit!

DF just had to buy a bunch of expensive suits for work and we though heck with it, we aren't spending extra to rent a tux when the suit looks just as nice! Plus you can re-wear a suit, the tux is just for that day! We are also an intimate at Sea Breeze point! :goodvibes

definately the suit ... why spend more $$$ :-)
