We are staying at SSR in a studio mid September. We have never stayed there before. Looking forward to something different. BCV is our favorite because of location but couldn't get reservations there.

So.......... what location should we request? :confused3

Also, what is the latest strategy for getting a favorable location? Should you ask at check-in? Ask that if you waited to move in could you get a better location?

Once when we checked into BCV we got a terrible location. The airconditioner was broken. They came in and fixed it but during the night it started to make a terrible racket. We went down to the lobby to complain early in the morning because we couldn't sleep and they gave us the location we had asked for at check-in the day before. This is why I think maybe if you say you don't care about moving in right away and would wait, would you get a favorable location?

Thanks, Beth

Congress Park is closest to DTD and some of the villas have a waterview of DTD. The Springs is closest to the main pool and the Carriage House, plus Artist's Palette and the Turf Club. The Paddock is located on the opposite side of the lake that is found at SSR so you can get a nice view there. Also, some of the Paddock villas are pretty close to DTD.

I'd also suggest Congress Park - the buses stop there right before they go to the main stop, so if you don't feel like walking you can hop on any bus and get to the main pool and dining in a few minutes. You'll have a great view of DTD and CP has the prettiest, most luxurious quiet pool spot on DVC property.

When we were there in August I asked to be placed in CP at check-in. The CM said that the room they had assigned to me originally (in the Springs) was one of the rooms "everybody tries to get". There was no problem switching from there to CP - although we did not get a water-view with that late of a request. I'll request CP water-view in advance next time.

BADGERING the front desk CM till the give in :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

just kidding , couldn't resist :teeth:

I don't think there are any "bad" locations at SSR. Just depends on your preferences.

Like otheres have said, do you want to be closer to X or to Y.

Have fun!

We loved our Congress Park room on the 3rd floor overlooking Downtown Disney. The best view we've had other than the Boardwalk view. Also, we LOVED the pool because of the quiet and view of Downtown Disney. The only thing we didn't like was the long walk to the main building. Even with that, we would request this view again.

We were in Congress park last Fall and we loved it. Had a first floor Studio in the second building in from BV Drive. :thumbsup2
The bus stop was right outside the front door, the pool was just outside of the back door, and the gate onto BV Drive was just a stones throw away. (had a car)
Even with DW in the WC, DTD and the main building were not much more than five minute walks. (I don't ditty-bop :cool1: )
It was a great location.

Thanks for the advice!

I don't know what view we want because I don't know what views there are. Like I said, have never stayed there just looked around a little and have used the fitness center which we love!

Looking forward to it OF COURSE! :Pinkbounc

25 more days!

FYI, and because I love thinking it..... :dance3:

We are doing 3 days Disney, 3 Days Vero Beach!!!!!!
