Need some words of affirmation.. weather forecast not looking good

Personally, I like it when it rains at WDW—clears the parks out! I take a poncho and umbrella and usually a hoodie for going into the a/c. I also bring lots of shoes and plan on doing lots of laundry. Not something I stress over.

I agree with others who have recommended taking newspapers for shoes. Did that for the first time last year and it was a great tip! Stuffed wet running shoes with newspaper as soon as we returned to the room and then replaced with fresh newspaper about a hour later. In the AM a quick hit with the blow dryer and they were good to go!

We were there last October celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday the week Hurricane Milton decided to visit. It poured rain every day with short sunshine breaks but we still had a great time. Disney ponchos and Crocs are my go-to rain accessories.

It'll be waaayyyy better than our trip last Oct. in the middle of a hurricane. Just go in with a good attitude and take ponchos. Have fun!

Yes, we had some pretty cool memories and experiences that even though we go a ton and have for decades, were new for us. Definitely would prefer to not have them again (we'll always take nice weather over pretty much anything else) but it was definitely neat and something we'll remember

Did you have any trouble with the crocs not having good traction on wet surfaces? During our rainy week, I saw several people slip and fall or almost fall that week. And while I don't wear my crocs for anything other than walking down my driveway to get the mail, I can't wear them if the driveway is wet because it's like walking on ice.

Yikes, thankfully no! I do think with really bad storms and puddles they sometimes slip off but I usually try to wear the backing up when it's bad out.

I wore Crocs for years and will say rain = blisters for me. I swapped to sandals with straps and blisters were no longer a problem, even in the rain.

We were in AK when there was a downpour. It suddenly felt like a river that we were walking through. We had zip up ponchos and we put our toddler in the carrier and zipped up the poncho and headed to Navi River (we were at Dinosaur). We rode it twice I believe. After an hour or so it was down to a drizzle. The Safari ride was the best. The animals came out and were active and even a cheetah got up and sprinted after some other animals sprinted outside (they’re usually lying down in the heat). The only ride I wouldn’t do in a drizzle is Everest. Those raindrops felt painful when we were riding.

We had a great time but it took 2 hours of trying to dry our sneakers (5 pairs) afterwards. Stroller stayed wet for a few days and we had to use plastic bags to use it again. We always have ponchos; 2-3 disposable ones in our crossbody bag as well (if 2 of us want to separate).

It was really hot and it does cool down to where you feel cold when it rains like that. We figure it’s part of the unique experience and roll with it.

Note: The Skyliner won’t run even if there is lightening in the distance (we couldn’t see any storms even on radar) so always plan on going to the bus stop even if you don’t see clouds. I wish there would be some kind of notification (maybe for those of us staying at Skyliner resorts at least that the Skyliner is down) before we head to the back of the park.

They brought buses and took us to where we were going. And if you're staying at a Skyliner resort you can check the transportation tab on your MDE app to see if it's running. If it's not running, it will say "Skyliner not available use bus transportation" or something like that right next to . Unfortunately, that's not well advertised, so most people don't know they can check there. I only used that feature when we were actually at the resort and getting ready to head to DHS or EP and couldn't see the Skyliner from our room. I'm assuming it works even when you're at the park, but never tried it.

MDE was horrible for updating bus transportation when we tried using it post covid and we gave up on ever checking transportation there. Hopefully they’ve improved it since then (few years ago).
