Liam has been so poorly last weekend  we all had colds just over a week ago and I thought great that's that out of the way, then DH got it but I think he picked up a different one which he's passed onto Liam.
Yesterday DS had a raging temperature (although paracetamol brought it down) and he had such a bad case of shivers, he was crying and I got quite worried. This morning his temperature is normal but he's being sick and he's just said he doesn't think he'll be well enough to go to Disneyland. :sad1:
I've managed to get an appointment with the GP this evening, I wouldn't normally but with our trip looming thought it might be best, just to put our minds at rest it is just a cold.:wizard:

3 days is still time to recover, kids usually get over these things quite quickly, hopefully with some rest, and plenty of fluids he should feel better soon. :wizard: :wizard: pixie dust for your DS.

As wideeyes says, children get over things pretty quickly, I am sure he'll be bouncing about like Tigger before you know it! In your shoes I'd be encouraging him to be positive, and dishing vit C out to him and the rest of the family like sweets popcorn::

Sending lots of pixiedust: to help you along!

Oh poor Liam:hug: He must be not well if he cant see himself getting to go to Disney. I am sure he will be recovered before you know it. Sending lots of     andpixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hope Liam feels better soon for your trip:grouphug:

Thanks everyone - he is a bit brighter at the moment.
He never, ever doesn't want to go to my parents, but he wanted to stay home with me this morning, which was worrying. Luckily the colleague I'd swapped today with so I could have Wednesday off agreed to cover for me :) and apart from my PJ's currently in the tumble drier - I've packed our suitcase. :)

Kevankiki you sound just like me :rotfl2: a month before a trip out come the vitamins and Ecchinacea, not quite so sure of their efficiency now though.:confused3

I hope Liam is much better and you all have a fab time:goodvibes

I'm sure with 3 days to go Liam will be feeling better in time but to help pixiedust:  pixiedust:  pixiedust:  pixiedust:
We seemed to get everything going for the 3 weeks before our trip but we were better just in time, I'm sure you guys will be ok and have an amazing trip!

Hope he's better real soon. Children can scare you so much with their sudden temperatures and illness, followed by a miraculous recovery, just when you're convinced they have something terribly wrong with them. :worried:

His glands are up and his tonsils are inflamed but no infection there, rest, fluids and paracetamol was the GP's recommendation. The sickness she thinks is just being caused by a fluid build up and a rash he's developed around his eyes is something children can get from vomiting violently apparently, I'd never heard of it before - broken capillaries or something like that.
Fingers crossed added to all your good wishes I'm sure he'll be fine, although he's still not convinced. :)

My daughter had something similar last week. I was told by the Chemist not to buy anyhing in the chemist (very odd?????) he told me that the best thing for her ailment is flat lemonade with a small bit of honey in it. I done this and she was back to normal 24 hours later. May be worth a go???

Thanks mickey4kids we'll give it a go tomorrow :thumbsup2 , any lemonade we have in the house is usually flat, no one else seems to have mastered putting the top back on tight and I've always got honey, I love it - preferably off a spoon but on toast or with yoghurt if I have to.:)

Pixie Dust! and Plenty of it!

Oh, and as for that rash, Don't worry about it! DD15 still suffers from it! with no ill effects! Goes away in a couple of days without any kind of marks either!

ugh - just saw your post! hope that things go better and that all sickness is gone before the trip!

 : Kids are such resilient things Jill- I'm sure all the magic potions :stir: you have given him over the past few days will help and am sure the sight of his favorite ride will do the trick :goodvibes

I hope everything goes according to plan and that you all have a most MAGICAL trip :wizard:

Hi ya, hope Lil Liam gets well asap,
If my kids got ill a couple days before we had to go my husband would cancel the trip:scared1:
He's a doctor so he gets really worried:rotfl2: sometimes i find it amusing, but mostly his overprotectiveness drives me mad:scared:
He thinks I'm too laid back, but I'm their mum so I tend to know what's best despite his medical knowledge...
And also a little prayer always helps:worship: :yay:
Let us know how he gets on

Lots of pixie dust for you and Liam  Hope he is feels better very soon

I work at school and its amazing how fast kids both catch and get over stuff! I am sure he will be as fit as a fiddle by the weekend.
healing hugs
