Hi everyone!! We're leaving for our cruise in a couple of days (ACCK!!!) we return next Saturday, the 22nd. The boat docks very early so we could be in WDW by 10:00 a.m.

We have a room booked at the World Gate Resort. I'm wondering if you think it's worth it to do a day in the park -- will it be too hot and crowded on a Saturday to go to MK?? We never visit the parks this time of year, we're fall/no crowds people generally!

I would love to see Philharmagic and Wishes. But I don't want to spoil our week of relaxation on the cruise by ending the trip with a day of heat and stress. Think we should just stay at the resort and do Downtown Disney in the late afternoon??

I'm open to suggestions!!! Thanks!!

I think it would be fine. Providing you don't have high expectations of seeing it all. It's bound to be hot and probably somewhat crowded since it's a Saturday. However, if you go w/ the mindset that you may only see a handful of things, then I would go for it!!

If you have annual passes, I would go. If you would be losing a day from a hopper then I would still go, but would plan a little more. Since it is May the crowds are still relatively low, so you shouldn't have a big problem - but it will be a Saturday. But if you aren't trying to get your money's worth out of a park hopper, I think you can make anyday in WDW relaxing. You just know that you want to do Philharmagic and Wishes and simply people watch, walk around and enjoy the atmosphere (and sneak in a few other low line rides in the process). Try doing some of the smaller things that you really enjoy but don't normally do - like really taking the time to read the windows on Main Street, taking in an old Mickey cartoon in the theater, have a sit down lunch at Tony's, etc.

Any day in WDW is a great day to me. Just the feeling of walking down Main Street, hearing the music, seeing the castle - that is the ultimate relaxation for me. Even if I was not able to do a thing, just being there would make me feel good. And this would truly be the best way to end my vacation.

I think you're right...we've been to MK enough times that we don't 'have' to do everything. And you know what, we never have watched an old Mickey cartoon at the theater!! We don't have an annual pass so I'll be paying for one day passes -- which is okay with me. I read that Star Wars weekends are going on over at MGM, maybe the crowds will go THERE!! ;)

We will be in the parks on that Thurs. - Sun. Saturday we are planning to go to Animal Kingdom, but MK in the evening. We were worried about the hassle as well, but I think if we just take it slow it will be great. We are planning on seeing Spectromagic and Wishes that night, walking down Main St., shopping, etc. Just really enjoying ourselves.
It will probably get busy as it gets closer to time for Spectro & Wishes, so allow plenty of time to rest in a good spot for the show. We are going to have our evening snack while we wait!
Have fun! See you there!
