Since we will be staying at Coronado Springs this time during Free Dining, I was wondering if it was worth eating at Maya Grill or should we just stick to the Pepper Market?

We love Boma, however I thought it might be nice to try Tusker House since it is a now a buffet with an equally interesting menu (good choice or stick to Boma?). Also how does dinner work at Tusker House since AK will be closing at around 5 or 6? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.:goodvibes

We have stayed at the Coronado Springs seven times and we have only eaten at Maya Grill once--and that was for their breakfast buffet on our "resort" day. We thought of doing dinner this year but we are, if not cancelling our trip all together, at least cutting down our nights and Maya Grill would have to be one of the ones to go. However, there was a really good review of it about a month or so ago. I've read mixed reviews...I think it is another either love it or hate it type of place. I do remember reading in most reviews--whether good or bad about the food--that the service is REALLY slow. We like Pepper Market (another love it or hate it place). We also like the new Cafe Rix grab and go--they have some really yummy stuff.

Tusker House has a few "interesting" offerings but you will find most of the food is very much Americanized flavors & such. We enjoyed Tusker House, but it is not nearly as exotic as Boma (which, by the way, we did not like Boma due to those flavors.)

think of tusker house as Boma light. It is a great place to sit and have lunch if you are at AK because i think it gets so hot there, i appreciate the break. Not sure how dinner works- sorry.

I have eated at the Maya grill when we stayed over there but it is really nothing i even recall to be honest.

Many years ago, Maya Grill was wonderful. It had a South American themed menu and the food was really interesting and delicious. Great margaritas, as well. Unfortunately, that theme wasn't terribly popular, so the menu is much more ordinary now.

Having said that, I tried Maya Grill on our Feb 2009 trip. It was okay, but not spectacular. However, if I was staying at CSR and had never been there before, I would try it, for the convenience and just to see if I liked it.

We just got back from Coronado Springs. We ate at Maya Grill and enjoyed our meals. However, our server did tell us they are completely redoing the menu starting this week. So, you may want to see if you can find an updated menu in the next week or so. Also, I was not impressed with our service at Maya Grill. We had 8pm reservations and upon arrival at 7:50 the hostess seemed extremely put out by us. She then told us the dining room was completely full and that we would have at least a 15-20 minute wait. After waiting about 20 minutes my DH realized the hostess was seating other groups of the same size with later reservations. He said something to her and she magically came up with a table for us. Our waitress was a little more pleasant, but definately not overly friendly. We also ate at the Pepper Market and I was really impressed with it, especially considering it counts as a counter service meal. The portions were huge!! The food was also pretty tasty. By far my favorite CSM. Our server was also very friendly.
Also, we ate at Boma for dinner and liked it ok. There was a lot on the buffet and a decent variety. The past two trips we have eaten at Tusker house for breakfast and love it! It is a character meal at breakfast featuring Daisy, Donald, Mickey and Goofy. The food is great and our DDs absolutely love getting to dance and play with the characters. So much fun!!
Good luck on you ADRs:goodvibes
