Need some help with Fairytale Pkg

Our trip is Oct 24 - Oct 31
2 - adults - 1 - 6 yo DD

I got Animal Kingdom Lodge Standard View for 1919.37

I also got a price for Carribean Beach for 1495.73

These both have insurance with them.

Is this be a good deal??? Is AKL worth the extra $400 over Carribean?? Is Disney Quest going to be something that my DD enjoys?? We will probably not spend a lot of time at the water parks, maybe 2 afternoons.

What is the regular room rate for these dates at AKL??

I've been pricing a similar room for myself and yesterday booked the AKL standard view for August 16-23 for 7 nights and there are 2 adults and 1 5 yr old in my party (plus and infant but he doesn't cost anything yet!). Our prices should be similar to yours and I got AKL for about $1670 without insurance. That is standard view of course! I think the rates are the same that time of year (Aug or Oct) so I'm wondering if your price for AKL is for water/pool view???? I remember getting a $1900+ price for that view. I'm using expedia to price out the packages. The rate your're getting for the moderate hotel sounds like what I got too when I priced it out. I wouldn't question your numbers except that I think I priced this thing about 3000x yesterday trying to decide what to do, when to go, etc. Just double check your rates. I cannot get a standard room to pull up for your dates on expedia...only the savannah view which is $2154 (plus insurance).

I chose AKL cause it was only a bit less than $300 more to stay there and the resort sounds so cool!

I questioned that also. I did ask for a rate for Savannah View and the CM gave me the amount as appox. $2200.00. I can't remember the exact amount.

He did tell me that rates for AKL change Oct 1, because I checked on rates for November (Value Season) and he said that they would have already changed.

I think I will call and check on that again.

Actually 7/4/03 - 10/1/03 is considered "Value" season at AKL and 10/2/03 - 11/1/03 is considered "Regular" season. So that is why the price is higher. I recommend you check mary waring's site mousesavers.com as she has all the rates and dates for all the resorts laid out.

Hi, we are staying Oct 7 to the 14 (7 nights) at AKL. We have 2 rooms, standard view. Our total is 3200 dollars. I don't know if this helps or not. Oh yeah, there is 1 adult and 1 junior in each room.

I priced out the FT package for the same resort/room type for August and October. The October price was over two hundred dollars more than the august quote because of the change in seasons.

Sorry to send you rehunting the prices! Perhaps I never found a standard room for the October time frame so I didn't price it out. I chose AKL this time over a moderate because I really would like to try the AKL - the theming seems great and I think my 5 (almost 6) yr old would love the animals. The pool looks great too. However I don't think you can go wrong at any of the moderates from just reading about them. The WL is probably the same price as the AKL and offers the boat to the MK which would be great for us (we have a 1 yr old and stroller). I think you just have to go with what feels right for you and whether that $400 is worth it. We don't get to WDW often and I really want to try a deluxe. Thinking of spreading that $400 out over several years it is worth it! LOL! Don't get me thinking about it or I'll change my mind again! Enjoy your trip - you'll be there on my 40th birthday which is when I had hoped to go! Have some drinks for me on the 29th!

Our trip is to AKL July 29th thru Aug 5th with a savannah view room and the total wa 1700.00 and that is the FTP.
Too good of a deal to pass up I think. OoO
