I need to sell off my 50 pt contract with saratoga . Cant afford it anymore. My dues are paid off for the yr,but my pts this yr and 06 are used up for a dec trip that i already have planned. Anyone have any suggestions on how to unload this?

You can't sell your contract without losing your vacation plans. All reservations are automatically cancelled upon selling, so you have to wait to sell your 50 pts.

Or the OP can specify that closing will not take place until after the trip is taken.

Since all of the 2006 points are used, you will be selling a stripped contract for a resort Disney is still actively selling/prooting. IMHO you shouldn't expect to get top price - An informed buyer will expect you to pay (or reimburse for) 2006 maintenance fees and may expect quite a discount to make up for the lack of 2006 points.

My advice to the OP is to call a broker - the Board Sponsor (Timeshare Store) is a good one.

Sorry you have to sell - good luck.

Best wishes -

Thanks carol. The only thing I was thinking that while my points are gone for 06, someone that really needed to use them can always borrow.. I do understand your point though . I guess i will have to get hold of the timeshare store and see what they have to say..

I too agree that you may have to sell for a discount and if you want to sell quickly, you may want to offer to pay closing costs or do something creative.

Remember with ROFR, whatever the price, it still has to go by Disney and somehow you will get your money. I can't see Disney letting SSR go very low riight now. What you really need is a just an offer and let the rest be up to Disney.

Also, there may be someone out there who really wants into DVC and is willing to wait for their pts or borrow pts to do that.

Good Luck

Be sure you don't close on any sale until after your December trip, because all trips that are booked will be canceled at closing.
