need some good stocking stuffer ideas

For those with a Target store nearby their $1 bins are great! I just bought DS7 and DD4 a bunch of diseny stuff there! Princess and Cars stickers, pens, notebooks, the cutes princess jewelry, all for a buck each!

Yes, they are great - but those bucks add up really quick! :)

Great ideas in this thread. Only downside is I've now added about 5 more things to my shopping list. :goodvibes

tangerine in the toe, something long and a little stuffed animal to peer out over the cuff. A pair of holiday socks, some holiday jewelry. Slinky. Chocolate santa. Tree ornament. batteries for other gifts. puzzle of some kind like take apart the links or get the balls in the holes...small rubric's cube. Wander the aisles of a specially store for easy stocking stuffers. I keep a bag going in my closet all year long and add to it often. My stocking stuffers are mostly done.

Ah, yes. For the past few years we've been adding a webkinz to the top of the stocking. Kind of hanging out. DS is kind of over that this year though - so sad to think of his stocking without a "buddy" hanging over the edge.

DD is getting the Disney Princess Polly Pockets in her stocking. She has Ariel, Cinderella and Aurora, so Santa is bringing Belle, Snow White and Jasmine. (The small sets)

WOW I have too see if I can find a Micheals store... thanks for the $1 tip... I love the dollar store for stocking stuffers

Dh gets candy, shaving cream, razors, batteries, silly toys like a slinky or a "brain bender" puzzle, soap, socks, and orange in the toe.

everyone gets a roll of duct tape in their stocking at my house :) my DS15 and DS18 and DH love this, I get a different color every year :)

Some stuff my 8YO is getting:

-hair stuff (specifically stuff that will work with her uniform colors)
-Webkinz Reindeer
-band-aids (Santa buys cool ones)
-small Polly Pocket set

For DH:

-salsa
-toothpaste
-special magazine (DH loves a Dr Who one I find at Borders)

My MIL seems to think she should do the stockings...:confused3

But, I do the following for my girls from the REAL Santa.

Hair things, dress up make up, chapstick, mittens/gloves, scarf, winter beanie/hat, warm socks, coloring books or magazine (age dependent), crayons/markers/colored pencils, satsuma oranges, favorite candy

For DH, that the family never sees (we have a tradition of exchanging stockings before we get out of bed :rolleyes1 ) something naughty, something nice, something pretty for me (it is for him really), and something yummy(usually the white chocolate I can't stand). This alows us to have a few moments of adult time before concentrating on everyone else for the day, even if we don't "take advantage" of the opportunity, its a promise for later. Next week maybe? lol

always puts a big orange in the toe (DH's tradition..) and that takes up a lot of space. :)

In our house Santa only brings for kids.. so kids are responsible for filling the adult's stockings. (Mine are 7/9 but have been doing this for years.) We buy some small candies for them to put in, but basically they stuff it with things they make.. pictures mostly, or they will write a story, or make some small crafts. They come up with all kinds of cute ideas, and it takes the pressure off us for something. Maybe you can start that tradition? Your older two would probably be into it. This way you can make sure yours gets done too.:santa:

For my kids I buy things all year when the $Spot is 25cents, and I use them for stockings and Easter basket. Hasbro also had some cute Potato Head pieces (We collect the Disney sets) and they will both be getting some of those.. oh yes.. and a few Disney pins of course.

I love the idea of having the kids fill up mom and dad's stockings- I think my kids would enjoy this! And it would take some pressure off of DH who is not the world's best shopper

We have 3 girls, ages 10, 16 & 16. Their stockings are filled with pretty much the same types of items, tweaked for age-appropriateness

Hair accessories

Inexpensive fashion jewelry

Cute stationery - pencils, pens, notebooks and a pocket-sized year planner

Coloured pencils & markers for youngest DD who loves art & craft - not the usual basic sets, I'd buy metallics or other "special effects" coloured pencils

Comb & Brush (I don't know what they do with them)

Wallet/ coin purse

Toiletries - travel sized everything! Good for travel, the occasional sleepover etc.

Phone cards

Headphones

Inexpensive photo albums/ frames

Craft supplies for youngest.

USB flash drive for older girls for school projects, photos etc

Puzzle books (Sudoku, crosswords, word-find etc)

Cell phone accessories (charms, stickers, face plates etc)

For the guys (DH and DSS18)

Many of the same things as the girls; manly versions of course - lots of toiletries, phone cards etc

Year planner for DH

Small first aid kit (for the car or for their outdoorsy jobs)

Car accessories e.g. visor CD holder

Car chargers for cell phones

Small dollar store tools

Socks, Baseball cap or beanie for DSS, Belts

Wallets

Memory card

And of course, favourite candy or junk food for everyone!

I love the idea of the kids filling the parents' stockings. I got my first ever stocking last year! We didn't do stockings in my house when we were growing up. DH and I just concentrated on filling the kids' stockings until I insisted last year that the adults deserved to be included in the fun!

Both of my kids are getting Webkinz I found on clearance. I also ordered 2 of the Lego green base-bricks (that they always fight over) when I bought something else on Lego.com. They are getting magnetic marbles, and I'm scouring ebay and other stores for Potato Head pieces to scatter in their stockings as well :)

no real fruit it molds yuck!! We put Orange Chocolate oranges in stocking toes know!!

Add Koosh Balls to my list - just picked some up on my trip to the store. Haven't seen those bad boys in years!
