Please take this lightly and with a good sense of humor. :goodvibes

My DH and I had planned a long (4 night) weekend over his birthday in September to US after I won us both free passes. Just the two of us - no kids! I got a great rate at the HRH ($161/night) and thought everything was set until we were looking at all the attractions and he said
'ya know, I look at these and can't help but to think of how much fun the kids would have here. Let's cancel this trip and bring the kids next year. I really want us to go skiing.'

I have never been skiing and have absolutely no desire to go. So I am trying to *convinve* him that we should still go to US. Can you help me out by coming up with a list of reasons why to go to US over skiing?

Here is what I have so far:

  • Cost - cheaper to go to US
  • Can't ski in September
  • We have free tickets and it would be a shame to waste them
  • We got a great rate at the HRH and couldn't afford two rooms there if (when) we bring the kids.
  • This could be our *Test* trip so that we can figure stuff out for when we do take the kids
  • Universal has Happy Hour!
  • It's our chance to be alone just me and you
  • Universal is a lot safer
  • Everyone looks better with a tan? Wouldn't you like to see me with less clothes on?

Anything else?? Thanks in advance?

Its our chance to be alone no kids just me and you.
Thats what me and DW are doing this year :thumbsup2

I think your ideas all seem reasonable. Best wishes trying to convince him. If not, let him do the skiing since it's his birthday, with the stipulation that you get US for your birthday. ;)

I love all of your suggestions. I just don't get why we have to do what he wants for his birthday? Why can't we do what I want? :rotfl:

I'm with you. What's yours is yours and what's his is yours, right? Therefore, his birthday really **is** your birthday. At least that's the way it is in my house ... :rotfl:

Shame to throw away your free tickets. That's almost $200. Nothing to sneeze at. Better to try out Uni on "their dime," no?

Well, if you do end up throwing out those free tickets, can you throw them my way? :rotfl:

How bout..........
Everyone looks better with a tan?

Universal has Happy Hour? :goodvibes
:rotfl2: Added it!

Added it. Hope you and DW have a great time!

Sounds reasonable. But my birthday is in May and the tix expire at the end of the year.

:lmao: :thumbsup2

Also you can thro in there,it wont be freezing cold,no chances of winding up in a full body cast.Universal is alot safer!!:thumbsup2
Ha ha! yes, safety! Added it

But of course!

No, sorry. Those are the ones that are issued to a specific person. Unless you can show identification with his name and address I don't think it will work. And BTW I won't tell you his name or address so you have to guess :rotfl:

OMG! So far I think this is the winner! :worship: :worship:

Tell him that you really want to spend some alone time with him at a nice hotel and say it in your sexiest voice and see if that placates him. I personally can't imagine wanting to go skiing instead of to Universal! ;)

Everyone has great ideas. To help prompt some more ideas tell us some of his interests.

Here are a few ideas I had:

Staying on-site - priceless ...
By staying on-site you have Front Of The Line passes - No waiting in long ride lines!!!
Also, by staying at the resorts you may not even need to rent a car. You can walk or take the boat to the parks and restaurants.
Night Life - There is a lot to do at City walk that might be best without the kids.

Tell Mr Husband that if you go skiing with him and break your leg, he will have to do:

all the grocery shopping
all the cooking
all the clean up from eating
cleaning the house
scrubbing the toilets
all the laundry
all the errands
all handling of the family, any issues that arise, etc
taking off work to your doctor appointments

and that there will be no sex for the 10 weeks you will be in a full leg cast.

perhaps then, he will see the light and try out the darkside

He's an architect, an artist, photographer, and a super husband and father.

He's a romantic, yet he also loves rock-n-roll which is why he chose the HRH.

He is addicted to his blackberry.

Our first trip to Orlando we had both grandmas with us. I kidnapped him and took him to CW for about an hour and he loved it and said he really wanted to go back to US one day. I think we went into Margaritaville but just mostly looked around.

This definitely tops my suggestion. :worship:

I did US/IOA the first time with my sister to test it out for my family and figure out which hotel would work for us on a later trip. We stayed at HRR with a view of the pool and US, it was great. It also gave me good ideas on what to do with kids and what not to do with the kids when we returned and I got a good feel of how to get around the parks. I really think it would be great for you and your DH to do this as well. Besides....how often do you get a chance to act like kids, just the two of you?

Show him the responses you get.

(PS, when we did take the kids....we ended up staying over at the Marriott World Resort near Disney...because we could do it for free...and did three days at US/IOA with the kids...and one and a half days at Seaworld.

Not to knock your case, but if this is without kids, skiing has the getting cold met with warm romantic rooms by the fireplace (assuming you book the right room).
