Christmas shopping has begun..:santa:

First of all - L.L. Bean - the Personal Organizer for traveling (meds.; shampoo; brush; comb; toothpaste; etc.) - medium size - built in hook for hanging when opened.. The one I'm looking at in the catalog is $27.95.. Has anyone purchased this item - and if so, were you happy with it?

Also - any promo codes right now?

Second review needed: Mrs. Kimball's Candy Shoppe.. Has anyone purchased candy and other items from the catalog? If so, were the goods fresh upon arrival?

Any experiences with either place would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks..:santa:

You'll probably find tons of reviews on the LLBean item right on their site. Just click on it and sort the reviews by high to low, most recent, etc.

Right now, you'll get a $10 gift card to spend later when you make a $50 purchase. Mine just came today, and always free shipping.

I love that toiletry bag. We actually have 3 and have owned them for at least years. We have put a ton of miles on them and they are still in great condition.

I've had that organizer for at least 10 yrs. It still looks new. When I'm just packing for myself, it's fine. I fit shampoo, conditioner, brush, toothbrush, toothpaste, medicines, etc. However, if you have oversized bottles, or lots of meds, you might want the next size up. I have a separate makeup bag, so that cuts down on the clutter.

No minimum order? The only thing I'll be purchasing is the bag..

I think you're right.. I went back and looked at the large size (not that much more money) and it comes in the pattern that was requested, so I'm going to get the large..

Thank you all! :santa:

Each member of our family has one and I gave them to extended family members several years ago. Everyone still uses them!! Since this is the case, I assume they really like them, or they would've replaced them. Also, you can wash them in the washing machine and they come out like new-just make sure you remove any inserts or mirrors.

(Underlining mine..) That's good to know.. Makes it even more appealing.. Thanks! :)

Both of my daughters have the toiletry bag in the large size and they love it. My oldest daughter is always on the go and spending the night at friends houses. We keep the toiletry bag stocked at all times and all she does is grab her clothes and the bag and goes. That way she never forgets anything. They both use it at church camp in dormitories and it has worked perfectly. I want the extra large one for family trips to hold larger shampoo and conditioner bottles in the liter size. I have washed the bag in the washer and it looks perfect. I have been very happy with these bags. :)

I have one of the LL Bean travel bags too and it rocks! They back up their products too so if you ever buy something you don't think held up like it should they will replace it or give you a refund.

My parents and I have some that are 13+ years old and still look like new- even washed it on delicate and it was fine. We also have a few newer ones (shorter/wider/side pockets) and love them!

Last year LLBean did extra 20% off Veteran's Day weekend for Bean card holders (and I have seen them do a % off promo during the $10 gift card promo). Keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend!

I was going to order the bag today, but after seeing your post I think I'll wait till the weekend.. Meanwhile I'm going to look and see if there's a place to sign up for email alerts as I know that some places will offer you some kind of discount once you sign up and they send you that first email..

Thanks for the info.. I'm definitely going to get the larger bag..:)

I have had the black bag from LLBean for over 10 years it looks like new and holds everything.

Llbean has 10% Promo on their website rightnow

No recommendations but I love the name of mrs. Kimball's Candy Shoppe....

Kimball

I bought dh the large so he could fit full size bottles in it. He's blown through a Samsonite and an American Tourister. He throws it in a duffel bag and throws the bag in the back of his truck and is gone for weeks at a time. It still looks good a year later. He is hard on everything. It's the best one I have found for him. Me, I have a cheapy Bath and Body works that was free with a gift set and it will last me until the end of time.

Dear C.Ann, How lovely to think of me. Yes, I'd adore an LL Bean Personal Organizer! What a wonderful gift! Wait...it's not for me? :(

They're awesome. I have one that I got at Goodwill that had an airline name embroidered on it. Where the LL Bean logo goes is blank. Sometimes LL Bean does contract items for companies...I'm thinking this was one of them. (Here in Maine LL Bean donates directly to Goodwill!) I ironed on a Mickey patch over the airline logo. :) I love mine. I keep it packed all the time so I can grab it and go. I also keep an extra toothbrush in there for DH because he always forgets his. Mine just holds the travel size bottles, which is fine for camping, summer camp, etc., because DH and I are either in different cabins or, when camping, using different restrooms. I think it's the "old" style "medium". Once baby comes I think I'll get a larger one for the family. Or for baby and me...hubby just needs a bar of soap and stick of deodorant and he's happy. Boys. ;)

Each of us (DH, DD and me) has a travel organizer...LOVE them.

When we are on vacation - it REALLY helps to just have them all hanging from the towel racks in the hotels. Just keeps the counters nice looking. Otherwise - DD tends to "take over" spaces like the bathroom counters.

Mine is a little "grungy" right now - I had a shampoo bottle open up. Nice to know I can wash it- that never occurred to me.

Veterans day sale is up! 10% off entire purchase, ends Sunday. Finally can order my sonic snow tubes! :yay:
