Need restaurant suggestion

I'm looking for a resort or DTD restaurant since we aren't heading to a park this particular day. There will be 8 in our party...5 adults and 3 kids ages 2,4,6. We are staying off property but my parents are staying at YC. I want something nice but probably not signature b/c of the kids. I think a monorail resort would be fun. Are there any nice character meals for dinner? By nice I mean good food quality. It will be our only dinner with my parents while we're there. We do already have 2 breakfasts booked...CP and Cape May but I may cancel one if we do a character dinner.

1900 park fare at the GF is character or chef mickeys at the contemporary is as well. I would do ohanas at the poly, not character but amazing food and fun things for the kids to do.

If you are thinking of a monerail resort but not a signature restaurant, you have a couple of options. Character meal wise you have Chef Mickey and 1900 Park. I would not go to Chef Mickey for dinner (the food is not good at all!!). Of the two I would go to 1900 Park. The character interaction is great so if you want a character meal go there. However, I personally like the overall experience better at breakfast. I would think about Ohana as a possibility if you wanted to go to a monerail resort. After dinner you can go to the beach, lay on a hammock, hang out, and watch Wishes. I would also suggest Boma at the AKL as a nice option. It is a buffet and we love it. After dinner you can explore the hotel and look at the animals they have there (don't forget to go outside and use the night vision goggles!). I hope this helps! Enjoy your trip!

Of all the options, Ohana and Boma would top my list, with 1900 Park Fare in 3rd spot (only because I'm not sure how the Grandparents would enjoy the characters).
