Need resort to park easiest directions

We are staying at SSR tomorrow for MNSSHP, just one night. We want to go check in, maybe take a dip in the pool until our room is ready and then go have an Earl Sandwich, check out the Boardwalk for the first time and then head to MK for the party. How would you recommend traveling from place to place the quickest and most convenient way with our stroller? We will be driving so would using our van be the easiest? I find the resort maps to be very confusing, but it is probably because I am terrible at reading maps. Also, coming back to the resort at midnight is kind of scary to me because I hate not knowing where I am. Is it pretty easy to get from SSR to MK and back by driving? Thanks in advance

Doesn't probably help in the immediacy; however, do you have GPS? If so, Mousesavers.com has a wonderful download of all the points of interest at Disney, with the resort locations being at the guard shack. I worked great or us last week driving from SSR to the MNSSHP!

Some other more seasoned vets may have the driving directions in their head and can spit them out for you hopefully.

Take the bus to the MK from SSR. You can walk over to DTD from SSR (or take the bus or the boat). You could take the bus from DTD to BW if you really want to go to the BW. Then take the bus from the BW to MK.

You might not be able to get into your room until after 4PM. You can enter the MK on your Halloween party ticket beginning at 4PM. Just skip the BW for this trip and go straight to the MK from SSR.

Deb's suggestion is a good one - just grab the bus from SSR to the MK. Going to the MK by way of DTD and BW can be quite time consuming.

As I suspected. Suppose I will have to save wandering the Boardwalk for next month or so How crowded do you think the buses will be to and from MK and how long is the ride? We hate folding up the stroller...

MNSSHP festivities start at 4pm? I thought it started at 7? Doesn't matter too much as we have AP and can go in whenever but I didn't think any of the extra Halloween stuff began until 7pm? If they do start earlier than that, then we will head over earlier and try and get in as much as we can before the parade and then head back to SSR right after that. I do hate keeping DS2 out so late - I feel awful. But I know he is going to enjoy.

Although, I know how much he LOVES to swim and getting him to the pool would certainly have him in a less rowdy state for the evening and we can take MNSSHP at a leisurely pace rather than the frantic chasing or fighting to keep him in the stroller that usually occurs around the parks . Any suggestions on that front? LOL Oh wait, he is 2 and I don't think we will be out of that phase for at least another year or two .

MNSSHP begins at 7pm. They will let you into the Magic Kingdom using the MNSSHP ticket at 4pm.

I would walk from SSR to DTD, from DTD, take bus to Epcot, walk through Epcot to Boardwalk area, head back to Epcot and take Monorail to TTC,, switch Monorails at TTC to MK. We never have a car at WDW, and in and out of carseats can be a pain also, plus parking, etc. Many times on the monorail you do not need to fold up the stroller. Then from MK, just take direct bus to SSR.

Another thought would be to call DVC, and see if you can switch your room to Beach Club or Boardwalk?? Never know last minute cancellations!!!! Also - 2 year olds, I wouldn't worry about keeping out late, when they are tired, they will just crash! Though you may pay for it the next day!

• Drive over to Downtown Disney for lunch.
• From there drive to the Boardwalk (taking advantage of the free valet parking, which will come in handy later)
• From there take the bus to the MK for the party.
• After the party take the bus back to the BW, pick up your car and drive back to SSR.

You could also choose to skip the bus and drive to the MK, however keep in mind that you will have to take a tram from the parking lot to the TTC and then either a monorail or ferry to the MK. To me that's just more hassle than it's worth so I'd go with the bus from the MK.

That rule is in effect to keep people from gaining an advantage by parking at a resort (i.e. parking at the Contemporary and walking to the MK). They will have no problem leaving their car at the Boardwalk while going to MNSSHP.

Actually yes, they will have a problem as it is exactly what they don't want people doing. People do it all the time, and probably don't get caught, but that doesnt make it right. If they leave the Boardwalk to go to a park, they should move their car also. How is that any different than parking at the CR and going to MK??

If you don't valet you may have to park across the main street. I'd pull in to the guard gate, tell them what you want to do and if they direct you across the street to park, just valet instead. I agree it's not appropriate for park parking. If you go to BWV, I'd just drive to MK and take the ferry over or the monorail depending on lines and boat rotation.

oops...did not read her 2nd post...well then, Epcot will not be an issue but time will. That is alot of traveling for a 1 night stay. Depending on the arrival time I would rethink the BW visit.

Lucky Duck! If I lived that close I would skip BW and go another time. Have fun at MNSSHP!
