Need Resort Recommendation: April 2019 Couples Trip

My husband and I had an adult trip in September and we chose POFQ. We got a king room because hey, no kids! Woohoo! We were assigned a ground floor corner room right along the river. It was lovey. I really like that POFQ has one bus stop and how compact it is. I don’t remember going to POR very often for additional guests, and we have stayed there a couple of times. I’m sure it did sometimes but it was never an annoyance.

I can't agree more with POR as a great choice, especially at this time with renovations going on on nearly every other moderate resort. Though, I would hope the renos would be complete by next April :-) POR is a beautiful & relaxing moderate resort & we found it a nice "escape" from the theme park atmosphere. However, the biggest negative for us was the bus transportation. It seemed like there were always lines for POR & buses would show up in multiples for other resorts before 1 would get there for POR. We even took a bus to FQ one time because they had no line & POR was extremely long leaving a park one night. We got right on the FQ bus & walked from FQ to POR. It was a beautiful walk, but if that isn't your thing, then I would keep this in mind. Maybe it was just our timing. All that being said, I would still choose POR over any other moderate resort.

Yeah I'm not the biggest fan of walking (I have asthma) though I usually do well when I go at my own pace and I've never had a problem at Disney except when I had to drag my luggage across the bridge to my room at CSR but my boyfriend doesn't drive so he is used to it.

I guess this will be the dilemma POR or POFQ. When I stayed with my kids we pretty much hopped back and forth between the 2 (we stayed in POR but we loved the food court in POFQ) but I always rent a car when I have my 2 youngest they don't have too much patience for the bus system and they have anxiety. I find it better not to rent a car when it's just me or me and one other person since I will like to have a drink or 2.

It sounds like you would enjoy FQ more. It's a little more "lively" themed, but it's so small that you'd probably have less required walking to do there. But do try to get to POR & see Yehaa Bob at the lounge there....one of Disney's hidden gems & you'll be glad you did!
