Need rental car advice....

Still working on the plans for our Legoland/SeaWorld and then DLR trip in May. I am thinking we will fly into San Diego and pick up a rental car to get us around. Once we arrive in Anaheim, we won't need the car. However, we are planning to stay at Hojo's and I see that they do offer free parking.

1) Should we just keep the car the entire time and return it to the airport that we fly out of (not sure which airport yet)

2) Should we return the car once we get to DLR and then take a shuttle to the airport?

3) Any rec's on where to find the cheapest rental car?

We used Priceline name your price for our trip last december and got one for $13 a day and picked it up at the airport. I have been playing around with that again for our trip in december and right now I can get one for $2 a day.
