We will be vacationing in June and I would like have a small point and shoot rather than my big camera. But I am not sure what P&S's are good. So I need some recommendations. Please. And thank you.

Thought it may be important to know that I would like to shoot in low light and indoors without it being a huge issue.

What is your big camera? What's your shooting style? Price range? Etc The more specific you can be, the better advice you'll get.

Well my big camera isn't a really nice one, but it is to big for sticking in your pocket. It is a Sony DSC-H2. It is okay, I bought it because I am trying to learn manuel settings, before I invest in a DSLR. It has 3 BIG drawbacks. In Auto, it sucks, my husband cannot use it, and it is big.

I am looking for a small point and Shoot, I would like to stay under or around $200. I am not sure what you mean by my shooting style. I don't really care about really high megapixal. I will only be printing 4x6's and making a dvd with the pics.

Definantly not looking for my dream camera, just something that everyone can use with ease. (I will still be taking my Sony, but not to take every snap shot with, just those special one's.)

And I guess that it is worth mentioning that I am really impressed with the colors that I see in Nikon pics, however, I wonder if the p&s do a comperable job with colors as the dslr's

I'm no expert, but after just having done two solid weeks of hard-core camera comparisons and shopping, what I would have gone with if I wasn't wanting a mega-zoom would be the Canon A-630.
The A-630 is a smaller P & S that is a little heavier than a lot of them, which should help eliminate any camera shake. Also, you can always find the little p&s cameras that have IS now. It is an 8MP camera with a bigger-than-the-norm sensor, so your photos will actually be of better quality than it's peers that utilize a smaller sensor. The IQ of the A630 is excellent. It's power up time is very short, and its shutter lag time and shot to shot time are fast, and it will shoot 1.5 fps in burst. It uses AAs instead of a proprietary battery, another plus. Optical zoom 4x. It's fully manual, as well as auto. It uses Canon's older processor, and has actually been discontinued, BUT you can find it as a factory refurb at Canon's estore for $150. Not to shabby for a very NICE P&S. Definitely the way I would have gone if I were shopping for a nice P&S. You can find a full review of it, including sample shots here.
Good luck and have fun shopping!
