We are scheduled to go to WDW in 9/08--free dining month. I was told to make reservations ASAP because they go quick. I did this about a week ago with Disney reservations and did double book a bunch of dining times with different restaurants b/c we need time to decide which ones we want to dine at and have not had time to research yet. My Disney reservation person said nothing about problems with double booking. Tonight I called again to schedule another restaurant and this person said no double booking--she said they review the schedules each night and if they see double bookings, they cancel both without notice--what do you guys know? ThanksA

i've never tried to double book at the same time with the same reservationist....thats just asking to be told you shouldn't/can't do it. If you must double book just call twice and speak with two different ppl. And then make sure you cancel the ones you don't use, because that makes it harder for the rest of us when we try to get into a favorite restaurant.

Unfortunatle, my wife and I were confronted with the same problem. We did call twice, spoke to 2 different reservationists and then when we finally were decided, we cancelled one so others could use our spot.:yay:

Correct-You aren't allowed to double-book. It's not fair to other guests to not be able to get reservations because someone else hasn't made a decision and this is Disney's attempt to handle that problem.

When I think about it, it is a good policy. However, the first reservation perosn told me it was no problem to do, so I didn't give it much thought at the time. I did just call and straightened it all out and cancelled what we decided against. Thanks for all of the help!

Did she see your other ADR's? I would call and check to make sure that you have adr's still. I've heard reports that they'll drop 1, not both, but I don't have personal knowledge of that.

From personal experience, l had my ADR's made but we decided that we really didn't want "a", so I called to see if I could get an ADR at "b". The CM told me that I already had a reservation for that time frame for that day and that I couldn't have 2 for the same time frame. I told her that I knew I had the ADR at "a" but didn't want to cancel it until I knew for sure that I could get "b" because I didn't want to end up without anything. Once she understood that, she looked up the availability for "b", booked it and then cancelled "a".

Honestly, that is something that is very frustrating about Disney. The CM's you get on the phone don't seem to know Disney policy very well.

Trust me, if you double book you will be caught and BOTH will be canceled. Please dont cheat the system. Cheaters always lose.

This was my experience as well - I needed to switch to a different restaurant and the CM didn't cancel my first one until she had the 2nd one booked. She wanted to make sure I didn't lose the first one until we knew we had the second one.
