Need question answered to all past Western Cruisers

Hi there,
I am under the understanding that a company I took on their word is not keeping it - I have been recommending Key West Cruisers that IF my company the Perfect Gift was mentioned to them or even my name that those that use their service, will be extended a 20% discount to the cruisers - I was told that this usually is given to the companies that recommend them and I asked that I did not want anything - for it to be passed down to those that did use them - I spoke with someone whom I consider a friend and she was not given the service that was told to me - if this is correct, I am withdrawing my recommendations AGAIN -
Now I will be in Key West the first week of May and I do intend to settle this once and for all and will post what I do find out - I also hope to speak with Ed Swift about getting discounts for those that want them for the conch trains and anyone else that will help any of you that need it while down there - anhow thanks to all of you in all the word of kindness over the years - each of you are very very special.

thanks for the kind words - I try really super hard to stick to promises and sometimes I have had to break them when I had no other choice and if I gave my word - by gosh I stood by them that is why I try to be careful of what I promise - anyhow I did get a call from my friend today and she did go into detail of what she experienced but she did not want anyone to feel bad toward me for her comments - I have asked her to pleaseeeee comment for I intend to print this all before I go to Key West and ask them directly why did they go back on their promise - when dealing with conch wannabees then they have to behave as I was raised there in Key West - in fact that issue should be for anyone raised anywhere come to think of it.
Thanks again my friend and looking forward to the pleasure of meeting up with you and yours - in fact we will go out have lunch and enjoy the moment.

Yes folks, Shirley's word IS her bond and is as good as gold!! We were one of the folks that tried to get a discount from Key West Cruisers and it was denied. Here is our experience: Called KW Cruisers from The Radisson at Cocoa to reserve, we were refused and said that it was first come first serve and to call when we arrived in KW. When I asked 'Phil' about a discount as I was referred by Perfect Gift he laughed and said they didn't give discounts. When we arrived in KW I called again from the ship (cell phone) and was told to call back when we were OFF the ship which I did. They picked us up with a van and brought us to their office. We rented a 4 seater for 3 hours - cost $149.00. I asked again about a discount mentioning Shirley at Perfect Gift and again was told no discounts available. I then contacted Shirley privately so that she would know. I am not complaining (though I do think the charge excessive) but I did agree to it so no beef on my part. I only felt that Shirley should know that they were telling her one story but not delivering as promised. It was a reflection more on Shirley than on KW Cruisers. Her word and name means a lot to her and I respect her integrity. So just so you know up front that full rates will be charged. And Shirley Nelson is still the best!!!!!

ppiew - you did the right thing. Shirley is a kind and honest person and would want to know this information. Glad you told her!!

AND I highly recommend her flowers and gift baskets for adults and children!!!

thanks Gert - I sincerely appreciate you sharing your views - also if anyone has called this company for information or such and a discount not offered, I really would like to know - I am not bashing anyone - I was just told something and would like to know if their word was accountable - anyhow this is why I started this thread so I could get back some feed back.
I leave for Key West on May 1st - my 50th class reunion is coming up and I am as excited as a kid out on the Magic -

Have fun at your reunion Shirley!!!! They are really a blast!! Trouble for us old folks though, you need to go into 'training' for several weeks before to adjust the the late nights and partying!!! Wouldn't miss one for the world!! Connections with old friends and acquaintances is more precious than we realize. Have a safe trip!
