I was debating on buying one of these for my upcoming trip. Anyone who has one and has used it, please let me know:
1) is it worth the 30$?
2) what is the difference between crinkle and ripstop nylon?
3) side strap or no side strap? Is it a pain to have a strap on the top and one on the side as well?

and any other advice you can give is great!
Thanks! :goodvibes

We really enjoyed ours on our last trip. DH and I took turns carrying it. I thought it was well worth the $$. The straps didn't bother us at all. Rip stop is a smooth nylon--easy to clean and fast to dry. :thumbsup2

Haven't used mine in the parks yet, but I LOVE it so far. That cell phone pocket is da bomb! It was worth every penny. Haven't seen the ripstop nylon, but the crinkle is, not really rough, just not smooth or shiny. My dd spilled ice cream on it already :furious:, but it cleaned up really easily, so she can still go to WDW  .

Mine doesn't have a side strap and though I initially wished it did, now I'm glad it doesn't, because it seems like that would make it clumsier. It pops on and off quickly and easily, and is very easy to slide to the front for access to the pockets (and, I'm hoping, to make it easier to wear on most rides).

The only two (very, very minor) problems I'm having is it does slide around to the front when I bend over (but any bag would do that) and the straps tend to come loose and have to be tightened. Neither of these would prevent me from using it or buying another one (which I'm sure I'll be doing in the near future).

1)yes, but you can get it for less
http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1120746
2)the crinkle looked nicer online, but ordered the ripstop and it looks better IRL than I expected
3)no side strap. It goes over your shoulder(bag on your back)with the strap across your chest.

I haven't used it at WDW yet, but took it on vacation last week and it was easy to wear although I had it loaded up quited heavy. You can sling it over one shoulder(not across the chest) but it doesn't stay as well.

I love mine :thumbsup2

Thank you SO MUCh for the discount code! With that kind of deal, I had to get one. I'll try it out and see. Sounds like you all like it a lot and I need a way to carry my digital camera around without having it hanging around my neck all day.
Thanks for the help!

Code still good!! Just got the periwinkle one for under $20..TY!!! Off to Disney I go!! :cool1:

I bought one for our upcoming trip and love it so far! No side strap, I have the "sling" version (crinkle). My mom has been on crutches all summer and when she saw it she asked to borrow it so she could carry her lunch/normal purse items to work. She loved it so much more than anything she has tried this summer and ended up ordering one for herself. It stays in place when she's hobbling along; it's small and light enough yet big enough for the neccessities. It also seems to be rather waterproof (rain beads up nicely on it), although nothing would be waterproof in a heavy downpour.

I used one for the first time during my July vacation. I am pleased to say I loved it. I have the rip stop and it is very comfortable to carry. I love that the first zipper pouch is netted so that you usually will not need to open that zipper at security since they can see into it. the cell phone pocket int eh strap was very nice since you could hear teh phone ring when it wasnt' burried in the bag. the weight is distributed nicely on the back and it doesn't rub on your clothes so you won't get pilling on your shirts from the bag. B aware that though small amounts of water will bead on the bag a good splash from splash mountain and your bag will be drenched--but it dries quickly and my cell phone did stay dry. If you are riding splash with the bag be careful, and I suggest placing your camera and cell phone as well as anything else tha might suffer if drenched into ziplocks. I now use it for all fun outings--the fair, local amusement park, festivals and weekend daytrips. My DD wants one, so most likely for Christmas. When/if this wears out I will replace it with the same bag.

Just on vacation. It is a little too casual for me to use for work or for shopping.

I'll post the first negative. :wave2: Sorry!

I've used the messenger bag for 2 Disney trips. I did like it. However, the credit card slots where you would carry tickets, credit cards, etc. are not designed well. Those slots are too deep and any card or ticket you put in them slides well out of view. I actually worried they might slide out and fall to the bottom of the bag.

Just something to consider!

Quick question - for those that ordered off the website (THANKS! for the code) how long did it take to ship? I ordered mine today and I leave next week. I don't mind if I don't get it in time, but I'd love to take it with me

It's become my everyday bag. Of course, I still have a toddler, so prior to the Baggallini my everyday bag was a packback diaper bag from REI. He's getting older now, so I don't need to carry as much "stuff," so the Baggallini was a great way for me to downsize, yet still keep both hands free for hanging on to kids. I especially like the way I can slide it around to the front for sitting (I'm thinking on rides) without having to take it off and put it on the floor. Also love the cell phone pocket--I can hear it ring and get to it quickly--much better than a traditional purse or backpack.

This is kind-of what I was thinking. I still need to carry "stuff" but not as much as a diaper bag.

I ordered mine from ebags on 8/2. It was shipped the next day via UPS ground from Oregon with an estimated delivery of 8/10. It's a day early though; it's on the truck for delivery today. We're leaving 8/15 and I really didn't want to take a diaper bag for DD4 plus a purse for me, so I'm anxious to see how much I can fit into it.

A previous poster had a good tip about putting cell phones and cameras into plastic bags. I've never done Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids, but I think next week I just might have to do them to cool off! I don't want to have to carry a camera bag either.

1) I used a code, so mine was only $17. With that being said, it was very much worth the $17. I don't know that I would pay $30 for it. Especially since I know that you can use a code! I have the purple rip-stop nylon, and would love to have another color, but I probably won't buy another one unless I have a code.
2) Since this question has already been answered, I won't go into detail about it. :)
3) Hmm. I love the over the shoulder strap. I havn't gotten to try it out at WDW yet, but I have been traveling alot this summer to other places (Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Chattanooga, Atlanta just to name a few!) and it has been wonderful! I keep it with me in the car and at all the different places we've gone, and it holds my books, chapstick, notebook, pens, maps, travel guides, cel phone, iPod, snacks, and lots more. DH and I didn't share the job of carrying it, because I wanted to carry it the whole time so I could always have my stuff right there with me. :teeth:

our merle norman store had these on sale this weekend. 65% off! these were the bright colors, maybe getting rid of summer stuff ?

ITA! I have a little zippered change purse that I hook to the key holder inside and keep CCs in there.

Walmart has some cute Disney ones. :goodvibes
