Need Pool View at BCV, any suggestions

Book early, only ask for Pool view as your request and you should have no problem.
We all wish it was that easy. But they note what you ask for but won't garuntee anything.

To get the view you want you have to do two things:

1. Call the hotel the night before you arrive, ask for the front desk, not member services or reservations and have the front desk person work with you to assign a room for the next day. We did this and it worked quite well. They will be happy to do it, just do not call reservations.

2. Try and check in as early as possible, say about 2 oclock.

Good Luck
We're staying there for the first time in Oct. with a large party and I'd like to get connecting rooms. I guess you call these "lock off" rooms. Can you post or PM me the BCV phone number. Thanks.

A lock-off is actually adjoining 1BR and Studio units - to make a 2BR. Its a type of 2BR that you would request when booking.

If you have a 1BR and Studio booked, it may be possible to get a lock-off, but that depends on whats available when you check in.

If you have say 2 1BR units reserved - then a lock-off is not possible, but they may be able to get rooms close to each other.

And you won't get anywhere calling or faxing the front desk. DVC has asked all members to make their wishes known on their reservation and leave it at that. So call MS and let them know what you need.

But you sound a bit confused to me, so you may not know what to ask for at this point. What kind of rooms do you have for your party?

Confused? I have a 2 bedroom booked now, but having seen the floor plans a few days ago, realized a 1 BR and studio would work out perfectly. On the same link, it shows that the "lock off" rooms are adjoining, so I'd save a couple hundred by booking studio and 1 br if available,of course. And I know requests aren't guaranteed, but willing to take that chance. Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm new to this and any help would be appreciated. Am I missing something?

If you want a one bedroom and a studio and you want to pay for a one bedroom and a studio, you have to book it as such. You could cancel your two bedroom, but then you risk there not being a one bedroom and a studio available - your two bedroom would go to the next person on the wait list and you start over. You also risk the one bedroom and studio not being anywhere near each other, a request is merely a request.

It appears that you are paying cash to stay at the BCV and not using points. Am I correct? I'd keep the two bedroom and ask for it to be a lockoff. It would give your guests in the second bedroom a little more privacy and they would have the kitchenette in their portion as well as the full kitchen in the one bedroom portion. You could still call CRO and see if you could get these rooms separately, but like crisi says, they might not be anywhere close to each other. And one or the other might not be available.

When we booked our trip for last month, I had to specify 2BR/2Q, 2BR/1Q w/foldout in 2nd BR or Lockoff.

IMHO, keep the 2BR, it's fewer points than booking a 1BR and studio separately. Plus, it may be too late to try and re-book w/o having to go onto a waiting list.
