We just returned from BCV last night, and I was dissapointed in the view from our unit. We have spent LOTS of time (pre-
DVC) in the Beach Club. We generally would go to WDW for about 2 weeks/year and almost always stayed at the Y&BC and always had a lagoon view room.
For some... I understand that a good view is not that important. However, I really do enjoy a great view. None of the BCV rooms overlook the lagoon which is what I always liked best about Y&BC. The view across to the Boardwalk is great.
This trip we had a view of Epcot, but I think the view is impared because we had to look across the road to see Epcot. We were only on the 2nd floor, but on higher floors... you have a better view of the unattractive "behind the scenes" areas behind Epcot... so I am not convinced that higher is better.
I had requested a pool view... and we were there at the check-in area bright and early to get a good room. However... I was told that there were no pool view dedicated 2BR units available that day. Oh well... at least I did not get a smoking room

However... I think that even the view from a pool view room at BCV pales in comparison to a nice lagoon view room in the hotel.
In fairness... I believe that the view from a condo (1BR or larger) is somewhat less important than the view from hotel room because you have more space, and are not all cramped in.
