Need Photo Sharing Site for a Group

I need help finding a good photo sharing/hosting site. I normally us Smugmug for my personal photos. But I am helping out my niece who just went to Costa Rica for two weeks with her HS spanish class. They are looking for a photo site for everyone to share their photos - together.

Ideally, we would like my niece to be the owner/administrator, but the 30 kids would all be able to upload their own photos as well. If each kid could put their photos into their own gallery, that would be best (but not required). And a free site would be better. With this many kids, there very well could be a lot of pictures.

Any ideas? Smugmug doesn't really do what we want. Its the idea of "community sharing" that has made this more difficult than I thought.

They could sign up in www.flickr.com. Each student can have their own personal site, then one person (your niece for example) can create a group and all the other students can add their photos to the group. The group can be made private or public. You can also limit the number of photos a member can upload each day/week/month to the group or have it with no limit. Discussion in a forum style can be set up in each group as well.

flickr can be signed up for free with a limited number of photos uploaded per month. The number depends on the size of the original photos. Its based on bandwith. or for $25/year there is unlimited uploading of pics and unlimited number of groups you can put your pics in (limited to 10 groups per pic with the free account).

Also each student can comment on each others photos and its pretty easy to link all the students together as contacts.
