So, I listened to the weather forecast tonight. It is supposed to start snowing on Tuesday sometime and continue on through Wednesday. Our flight is early on Wednesday morning. The worst part is that they are forecasting 50 mile an hour winds along with the snow.

Do we....

1. take our chances that it's not going to be as bad as what they are saying and maybe have to take a delayed flight.

Or...

2. Get our flights changed to Tuesday morning and get there a day early. My step-mom is coming tomorrow so that she makes sure the storm doesn't stop her. So, we are covered there. Although I don't know if I have points left to use I can get a decent rate at Pop Century. I will have to pay for a flight change, but I'd rather pay a little extra and get there than not to get there. But, am I jumping the gun if we do this?

James says it's vacation and I shouldn't be stressed, but I am. He's got a paper due tomorrow night that he hasn't finished. I haven't packed a single thing yet. :( What to do???

Play it safe... go a day early... stay at one of the values... (if you can get in (or off property - try the swan or dolphin if you can get a discount...)

& get chocolate... I always need chocolate for a snow storm... forget the bread and milk... :rotfl:

Good luck...

I would try to go early too..... Good luck and happy travels!

I would go early if you can. I know in Denver when they are expecting a bad storm they try to get people to change their flights to an earlier day. Frontier and United will change your flight for free. Good Luck Nicole! :santa:

That is good to know. I was talking to James about that, and at this point, we'd pay the $150 to make sure that none of our trip is "wasted". If our flight got canceled on Wednesday, they'd have to find another spot for us. I'm just being proactive and trying to do it before so we don't lose anything.

If your weather men are anything like ours that forecast means it will be clear skies and sunny all day!

Oh that is so true. We aren't suppose to get any ice and then we get 5 inches and the power is knocked out for a week. Weathermen ???!?!?!?@@@#@?!?!?!...LOL.

I would play it safe and go earlier. Wouldn't you rather be in FL a day earlier and there be no storm OR stay the extra day and perhaps miss your whole vacation because the storm does hit??? See how the weather is tomorrow (Monday). Check weatherchannel.com. For us in VA, weatherchannel.com seems to be more on target than the actually Richmond area weathermen.

I hope all works out and have a great trip.

I wish ours were like that. They have been pretty good lately. :sad2:
I am hoping they are wrong for Wednesday. They are calling for snow now thru Wednesday.

Our weather folks were right on the money predicting our little "snow storm" here in the South this weekend. Days ahead of time. And predicting snow in the South is hard. :)

I would get out of there! :) Another day in FL and peace of mind! :)

A day early would be a safe bet. If you are complaining about weather men here is my opinion of them, they need to take refresher courses on weather predicting. Up until friday morning not a single weathermen predicted it was going to really snow down here in Houston as bad as it did. I mean they were predicting the cold weather and all at night, but I saw the signs for what they were and knew we were in for it with snow. I mean we were already in cold temperatures from a cold front that came through on Tuesday then the temps were going to drop and rain was predicted.

Anyway see y'all in 3 days.

If going early is a possibility and you can swing the extra money, do it.
You will breathe and sleep easier.

I agree with everyone else that you should try to go early. I had to make a last-minute decision like this last year and was so glad that we left a day early. We were driving, so that made it a little easier to change plans, but I didn't have anything packed and had to rush home from work and just throw stuff in a suitcase and hope I got what I needed. If we hadn't left when we did we would have been stuck for two days and wouldn't have made it to see our family in time for Christmas. It was a rough day trying to finish up with work stuff a day early and blindly packing so quickly, but it was worth it.

Good luck with whatever you do!

Similar boat, but my flight isn't due out until early Thursday. They posted our Winter Weather Advisory yesterday, which typically means it misses us and goes south - right to you. If you can do it, get out of town early. Check with your airline and see if they will switch you due to the impending storm, citing any warnings that may be in your area (I know Southern MN has Blizzard warnings issued, not sure about your area). Good Luck!

I would definitely get the heck out of Dodge early. I got so uptight when they starting calling for ice tomorrow - the day my flight leaves. But they have since revised that forecast and it should just be slight rain. I get so nervous about stuff like that. I swore after last year I would never do another December Disney trip, but darn Podcast fun forced me.

Yeah, we are right in the path of this storm also and it looks like it's going to be a major mess, freezing rain then turning to snow.

I'd get out of town early. Better to spend an extra day in the World than sitting in an airport.

I am also in Iowa... I would get the heck out of here!!!!!

Good luck and have fun!

We've decided to fly out early. We'll pay the fee. Although I don't trust the weatherman, I would rather be safe than sorry. However, I am so completely stressed out right now. I do not handle this stuff well.

We're kinda in the same boat. We're supposed to fly Thursday night and have to drive down to Buffalo to do so. Expecting the same storm up here...hoping more rain than snow. Not sure what we're going to do yet. Fingers are crossed.

So, I called back. There are 6 seats left on the flight we want. We are on the border of getting anywhere from 1-18 inches of snow. There is a section that just has quite the variance. Still not allowing for changes, though. :( Now it is going to be $260. I asked if they have changed my flight at all in the morning, and she said they have, but you are only allowed one flight change. But, she checked with her supervisor, and they are letting me change for free!!! So, tomorrow at this time I should be arriving at WDW!!!!

That is so great Nicole! Now relax and get packing. :santa:
