Need opinions on Restaurant Marrakesh

Has anyone eaten at the restaurant in Morocco, and what did you think? We've never had this type of food. Is it very spicy? How is the atmosphere? Is it a place that children will enjoy also? Thanks!

I just ate there Jan. 3rd. Basically because we didn't have any PS and it was the only Epcot restaurant we could get into! They have a kids menu & it's fine for kids, my 6 year old son loved the belly dancer! LOL We had the royal feast (I think that's what they called it). It came with a soup (lentil, lamb & cick pea) very good, lemon chicken, beef kabob, cous cous & roasted veggies, then dessert. It was well worth the $28.00! My DD got the same thing & she's only 15. Nothing we had was spicey. I can't remember the rest of the menu but mostly chicken and kabobs. they had a belly dancer & a guy playing muisc. It was a nice dinner surprise.

We enjoyed our dinner experience there as well.

As for the belly dancers....my 2 DS's really enjoyed them (well, they are of *that* age now....) as well as DH.....and DD who was 6 at the time danced with them. She had a blast.

Food was good too.....we didn't order anything really spicy...I had salmon, DH had some kind of combo - maybe lamb, seafood and chicken??? Kids had shish-kabob and couscous.....we finished off with assorted pastries.

Bottom line - I'd go back there again

Will children enjoy it? Well, mine sure did when they saw mom get pulled up to dance with the belly dancer! Even the children may be asked to dance. The live music is very unique. They have unusual food that is worth experiencing. I'm glad I tried it once and will probably do it again in a few years. ( I really like places that have a lot of dark, leafy salads and healthy veggies and fruits. This place wasn't really like that. Most foods were meat/rice type things. Brown foodMy kids like it and may I suggest the mint iced tea for everyone. It's very good!

Food was great, not too exotic. As for the belly dancer........The heck with the kids!!!!! I was in heaven!!!! My eyes were watching watching her every movement.....they could not move fast enough!....Back and forth, back and forth.....Then, my wife smacked me upside the head, and I continued eating with my eyes on my food.
How about a guys only restaurant here???

Many people rave about the resturant. We have eaten there twice and have found both occassions mediocre at best. The belly dancer is great and my DD 5 at the time loved it. I think if you are really interested in that type of food it would be far better to visit an authenic one in a near by major city (there is a great one in Philly for instance). There are far better places in Epcot to eat. My DH (a chef) has actually refused to return...he said twice was enough. I'm not that strongly against it, but if I had my choice of dining in Epcot, I would do it in Canada. Just my opinion!

Have eaten at Marrakesh several times and have always enjoyed it. Both my kids enjoy it too and yes, the belly dancer is an excellent sideshow....though it makes it difficult for me to eat as I am constantly watching her move....and what nice movement it is! Both my daughter and I have actually danced along with her. I apologize for anyone who may have been there when I danced....it had to be dreadful to watch....

As mep319 said, everyone has their opinion but we really enjoy this restaurant. Where on the other hand, we have always found Le Cellier at Canada to be average at best.

Frankly I think most of the Epcot restaurants are mediocre at best. Even Canada, the cheddar cheese soup everyone raves about tastes like it came out of a can IMO. but we are not making decisons based on being inside of a major city, it's Epcot. I guess we have to take in the whole ambiance.

We really enjoy eating at Marrakesh and always end up there.

The restaurant is not crowded (as Epcot restaurants go), the food is good (at least, we really enjoy it). We also have Morroccan in town, and we think its very similar to what we've had here.

It isn't too spiced, but the range of flavors is a little strange to the average taste.

DH and I always eat at Marrakesh, but this year we were disappointed by it. We had PS for 9:00 pm Dec. 29 (CP package). we both chose the Sultan's Feast, except that I asked to sub a salad for the soup, which they did. I don't know if it was because it was so late (we were one of the last tables to leave), but I thought everything tasted tired. Also, the portions were not quite satisfying for us. Too bad, because in the past we had really enoyed this place.

Last time being New years Eve and find it good.....not great. I didn't find the food really spicy and don't much care for the desserts, but the Belly Dancer is fun and overall it's a worthwhile experience.

the belly dance was a hit....my husband liked his food...& i shared the veggie couscous with my son...it was that big....my daughter had a chicken breast....grilled, i think,although she says fried....the best part was the desert that we ordered...it was a pastry something or other with almonds & cream sauce...really good. the kids were given a chocolate icecream scoop with almonds for desert.

it was fun & i'd go there again, but not twice during the same trip.
