DH & I are having a "discussion" over how much to tip our UPS driver. He's a very nice guy and always leaves treats for our dogs. That said, he's not here daily, nor even weekly. IWe bought some Chili's gift cards and I think $10 is a good tip but DH says $20.

What do you think? Am I being cheap? I do WANT to give him something, I know it's not a have to.

I've never tipped our UPS driver, though it sounds like a nice thing to do. But they are getting paid quite handsomely to deliver packages, so I don't tipping is necessary.

Unfortunately, I don't think $10 buys much anymore, so I'd probably go $20.

I don't normally tip them either but it sounds like he goes above and beyond. I think $10 would be fine but since it's the holidays go with $20 if you can afford it. It'll really make his day. :flower:

Myst

I've never understood tipping everyone at Christmas time. He's not YOUR UPS guy, you just happen to be on his route. Where does it end? The police oficer who patrols your neighborhood? The firefighter who is on call to protect your home? The local grocer? The street sweeper?

I'm not trying to be smart ___ I just never undertood all this tipping for some people, but not others.

Thanks for the input, looks like it will be $20 :flower:

DH is going to loooovee this

Me either - no one ever tips me for doing my job correctly.

Because he is nice, my packages are always handled with care and he goes out of his way to leave treats for my pets. :paw:

I don't tip everyone (the mailman's not getting a tip) but becuase this man goes above and beyond, I'd like to say thanks.

*edited to add that I am one of the biggest critics for "have to" tipping or pressure to tip but this isn't like we have to, we want to and that's what tipping should be about. :goodvibes

I wouldn't consider it a tip - tips I would think are cash - anyway, it's Christmas, I would consider this a gift!

Just my humble opinion.
