Need opinions....especially nurses

Not in favor of Edible Arrangements. They're often soft and mushy even when they arrive, and if left out even for a little while they develop fruit flies.

I'd favor cookie or bagle trays or something like that. One labeled day shift and one labeled night shift - otherwise there are only crumbs and pieces left for night shift.

Glad you were happy with your care. Was this a different hospital than you usually go to?

When I got released from the hospital we brought back 2 boxes of dunkin donuts coffee and 4 dozen donuts. The nurse were very thankful!

I just wanted to Thank the OP for the nice comments about the nursing staff at her hospital. I have been a nurse for 19 years mostly at the bedside. I love what I do and give more than 100% to every patient every shift. We also strive for excellent care, but often times it does goes unrecognized. Thank you for recognizing the staff. Any type of food is awesome. Hope you are felling better and on the road to recovery.

Same hospital different floor than I've ever been on. We've never had a "bad" nurse anywhere in the hospital but this particular floor of nurses were just so above and beyond what was necessary for them to do it was outstanding. When they weren't my nurses they would always stop by at least once or twice a day while there to see how I was doing, etc. And we had two tudent nurses wo were fabulous as well. It's the first time we've really felt that we've gotten personalized care. The attentiveness of the nurses was something else entirely.

As a nurse, your post made my day! I needed it after the night I had last night. I work nights, and we love food! I vote for a sandwich tray or bagels! The cafe is not open for us, so anything you can grab and go will be very popular! We always love sweets, too. A lot of nurses are germ a phobes so I would buy something instead of bake. The most important thing is a thank you note we can all read, those really do make us feel like we chose the right job even when we are having a bad night ! I wouldn't spend a fortune on edible arrangements, while pretty they go bad quickly and cost a fortune. You could spend a lot less and make us just as happy!

I second what pea and me said about a labeling one for days and one for nights. The night shift gets overlooked most of the time.

When I had my DD, we brought the AM staff donuts, the night shift got pizza, and the peds dept. (my DD had to stay a few days) actually got pumpkin pie from a great bakery. My SIL got the staff a couple sandwich platters when she delivered her twins.
